A few months ago I purchased several Callaway Heavenwoods including the 2h, 3h, 4h and 5h. I am an average 52 year old man who plays every weekend, never practices, doesn't warm-up at the range and still managed to score in the mid-80's. NOT ANYMORE!!! These unbelievably easy to hit clubs are the most incredible sticks that I've ever wrapped my hands around in my life! These clubs are designed to replace the difficult to hit longer irons in your bag. I now am able to hit shots from 165-215 yds. with the accuracy of a gap-wedge! My enjoyment of the game; which was already off the charts, now is better than I ever dreamed it could ever be. My handicap has dropped from a 12 down to a 5! All the guys that I play with have added these clubs to their bag! Give these sticks a try; they're simply the greatest clubs you'll ever hit!

Best rescue type wood out there IMO

I am a 5 handicap golf and was looking for something to help me over the hump and lower my hadicap. I struggled at times with long iron play, but I put a 2h and 4h in my bag and the results have been fabulous. I find myself playing stingers with my 2h off the tee box right down the middle for 235-245yds everytime. I have factory RCH75W firm shafts in both clubs. I can do everything with these ultra-easy-to-hit clubs. I even chip with the 4h sometimes on little tricky chips. I find myself hitting these clubs way more than I ever did my long irons because I have so much confidence in them. Try them for yourself and see, you won't be disappointed. I've also tried Sonartec, Taylor Made Mid Resuce and Nike Rescue woods, they don't hold a candle to these little puppies.

I originally tried my friends 14&17 degree heavenwoods at a tournament, the NYState Championships, The 14degree was very difficult for me to get airborn but the 17degree was easy to hit and carried a long way.It actually carried further than my 3wood did.I then thought I'd try the 20degree and again, that allowed me to remove my 3iron.So I purchased the 17,20,23,and 26 degree heavenwoods which carry high and land soft, unlike my long irons did.Since the purchase of these,I've eliminated my 3wood,3,4,&5 irons from the bag. These clubs have helped this 69 yr. old compete with the kids again!

  Callaway Heavenwood is a must!

This club is probably the club I have the most confidence in that I have in my bag. It doubes as my long irons plus it will get me out of a lot of trouble situations. I refer to it as my trouble wood because it bails me out so much. With its small heavy head all you do is hit down on the ball and it will pop out of bad lies and always give you respectable distance. Some of the other clubs might hit the same, but they have bigger heads and you can't get them through a lot of rough areas because they are too big. I would recommend this club to anyone of any age or ability. It also feels real sweet when you hit it. I wouldn't be without this club.

Great club. I love it. Had a bad tee-off. Go grab your Callaway Heavenwood club. I use these instead of fairway woods and have been working great for me. I bought three of em on ebay separately. 2,3,4. I bought the 4 used for $60 which was about 1/2 price of the others. They look great but scoff easily because of the high polish finish. If you want to save money get a used one as the new ones will look scoffed up and used pretty quick. Anyhoo... I love these clubs. Good luck.

I recently purchased both the 3H and 4H Big Bertha Heavenwoods. I find them to be an excellent addition to my bag. I no longer need to suffer with the 3 and 4 irons, which I cannot hit well. I use them as my fairway woods and get excellent distance and accuracy. They are a must for all golfers......put away the 3 and 4 irons!

The Single Most Important Clubs in My Bag!!!

I once was a 72 hole a week golfer when I lived in Texas, but life and living in Michigan has me down to 9/18 holes per week. These clubs (I now have the 2h, 3h and 4h with firm flex Callaway Graphite shafts and am shopping for the 1h) now have me scoring like I used to when I was playing alot. I've hit tremendous shots out of the rough and fairways as well. Two nights ago I scored six consecutive pars (had four birdie putts - missed them all) all due to the heavenwood clubs I'm now carrying. Included was a 215 yard shot from the middle of the fairway on a sloping 480yd par 4 to 6ft of the pin. Now if I can only find a putter that improves my game like these Heavenwoods have. I highly recommend these clubs to anyone looking to improve there aproach shots into the green...a fantastic club at a great price...you'll not be disappointed.

Being a reseller of golf clubs, I've had occassion to try most of the older AND latest clubs which is interesting. Most of the time I can tell very little difference between numerous models and brands, except with irons. But as far as hybrids go, there are differences in appearance, lie angle, weight and shafts. My personal favorite is the Hogan CFT, but the Callaway Heavenwood runs a very close second. I love the way it sets up and it's balance. I also like the way the ball comes off the club and the feedback I get when the club strikes the ball - VERY SOLID.

  Love these hybrids

This specific hybrid filled the gap between my shorter irons and my other hybrids. I was able to drop 2 clubs for this one, removing my 5 and 6 irons for the 7 hybrid. I now get the distance and accuracy I need to make my game more complete. After trying some of the others, I've found these Calaway Heavenwoods to be the most forgiving and reliable clubs in my bag. I carry 2,3,4,5,7 hybrid and 7,8,9 regular irons and can hit almost any distance between 100 and 200 yards with these clubs.

I was a little inconsistent with my 3 wood at 15 degrees of loft. I played with a friend who had absolutely fallen for these easy to hit clubs, I hit his and "Bam", was hooked. I find this club much easier to hit, which means more control. My distance dropped about 10 yard, but I am still playing a little tight with it. I'll really wind it up and let it go with this club as ai get more comfortable with it. These are very pleasing to the eye and invite the player to hit it.....my opinion. I won't go back to a conventional "3 or 5" wood again.

Only played with it two rounds but find it very easy to hit. Use the 5h from 165-170 and find it easy to control. 16 handicap (mostly because of one or two bad holes a side) but I really believe this club will change all that. Not the club but the confidence it generates over those mid to long yardage plays. Already looking to find a 3h for the 170-175 yrds. I truly believe that by putting thses hybrids in your bag, it will reduce the pressure of those longer irons and definitely reduce your handicap.

  Long Irons Overrated

Great club, easy to hit and distance can be dialed in easily by the placement of hands on the grip,(up/down). Put away the long irons and just gently place this clubhead on the ball and it will take off.

This is the very best hybrid on the market for the price. The prices should range between $55.00 and $75.00 used in very good condition. The only downfall about these hybrids are Callaways factory shafts. All the factory shaft are a bottom of the line quality and for top performance of this product it should be changed to a true hybrid shaft. DiamondCovers

I love my Big Bertha Heavenwood Fairway Wood 4. I had a hard time using my 3 or 4 irons and this club works perfectly in their place. If you're in heavy rough, the loft on this club gets you out very well. I'd recommend it to any golfer as a great rescue club.

  Callaway Heavenwood Hybrid 3H
Review created: 06/19/07
by:
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I decided to try the Hybrid club replacement for my mid-to-long irons because I was hearing so much about them being easier to hit and that the distance was greater than the equivalent iron(s). So, after having problem with my mid-to- long irons I decided to purchase a used Hybrid 3H club to try.
After receiving it, I went to the driving range and hit some balls. While it felt a little awkward at first, I started getting used to it and was hitting it pretty solid, and was a much better feel and distance than my irons. I was hitting it straighter than my iron as well.
I really don't have any dislikes about it except maybe the length of the club feels a little short(with me being 6-feet tall). But, then, that might be me and not the club length. Anyway, I liked it enough to purchase the 4H, 5H and the 6H clubs as well. The main thing is that I now have to get used to the extra distance and block out the shorter distances I was getting with my irons. I now have the Callaway Big Bertha Heavenwood(3H, 4H, 5H, 6H)replacing my Callaway X18 3, 4, 5, and 6 irons.

  Heavenwood is heavenly club

I am a newbie to the world of golf. I started playing 03/07, and love the game, but leave much to be desired in skill. The feel of the club is fantastic. It is light, easy to swing, hard to find fault. I bought mine used, at a fantastic price, just to try it. Wouldn't trade it for twice the money I spent. My bag is a hodgepodge of clubs, some of the women's starter set purchased new, a Titleist hybrid, and the heavenwood. If I were going to play a "4 Clubs & A Putter" challenge, I would carry: putter, heavenwood, Titleist hybrid, 7I, and wedge. Looking to buy more of the same line.

  CALLAWAY BIG BERTHA HEAVENWOOD 1h & 2h

1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I was looking for something to replace #3 wood and #5 wood,I have difficulty hitting these consistantly from fairway but since I wind up in rough too often I'm unable to hit #3 wood and #5 wood from rough. The Heavenwoods are great from the rough,I still switch between #3 wood and 1h because sometimes I use #3 wood from the tee because the driver will slice,I seem to hit #3 wood alot straighter. However I seem to have found the 2h at 17 degrees is perfect replacement for my #5 wood. Both clubs have uniflex steel shafts and that seems to help me somewhat with control,by the way they are great from the fairway too.I'm very pleased with these clubs.

i was looking to replace my crappy 4 iron with a hybrid.. i already have a heavenwood 3h in my bag and the 4h was the perfect compliment. The buyer had an exceptional price for a new club at least 30% lower than "blow out" prices at my local pro-shop.. and i got an added bonus headcover which was not even in the listing. my true test for buy it now is the sellers reviews and in the high 99% so i knew i'd be dealing with a straight shooter or someone that dropped the ball in from right to left ;)

I can hit long irons, including my 1 iron. Why would I even consider buying a hybrid? Mostly out of curiousity. I've since sold my 1 iron. Believe the hype, these clubs are just easy to hit. There's also been numerous articles in golf magazines about the different types of shots you can hit with these. Off the tee, from the rough, from the fringe, and even lag puts have been hit with these guys. I especially like this club from weird lies. This is now my go-to club.

Very pleased with the item and the price. The seller was a pleasure to work with. These clubs are very expensive and getting an excellent used one on ebay was the way to go to get a good club at an affordable price. The only thing I disliked was that I couldn't get more.
