At first, just looking at these irons you can tell they are unique. The feel throughout the swing is amazing. Getting a set of fusion irons fitted to your swing would make anyone a better golfer. I love my set and have added some distance to each of my irons by using these clubs. I now have an added confidence with my iron game and have seen a difference on my scorecard! I recommend these clubs to anyone looking to improve their game. These clubs seem perfectly balanced. The way Callaway prioritizes the weight of the club at just the right spots makes for an incredible feel when you smash the ball through the large sweetspot of the club. These clubs made playing golf much easier for me.

These clubs have exceptional feel and balance

I have been playing with Callaway s2h2 irons that are 25 years old. I have not found any new clubs that I liked better, til the new Callaway Fusions came out. They have a very narrow top line that I really prefer. You get no vibration, even off of off center hits. They are a very solid hitting club all the way from the 3 iron down to the lob wedge. I was skeptical at first, but I am sold on these irons. I am a 6 handicap, thought that there would be a transition period of time til I got use to these irons. Played great with them right from the start. I guess you can say that "I like them".

  A great Iron

Callaway's innovations are great, and I believe they outdid themselves on this one. If you like to hit the LONG ball, even with a pitching wedge, this is your club. I have never hit an iron with such a HOT, not to mention forgiving, face until I tried the fusions.

I look for technology that can help improve my iron game regardless of cosmetics or workability.

I look for clubs that do what they 1) are suppose to do as advertised, 2) are a good value and 3) may have been overlooked in the overwhelming glare of the Big Company's advertising.

The Callway Fusion Irons fit the first parameter and fit it better than any iron I have ever used.

Parameter 2? If you buy 'em retail, they just simply cost way too much...and in my opinion, the cost has less to do with R&D, production and materials than with the high cost of marketing. The cost would be a dealbreaker if not for used club sales and ebay. I got my 3-PW set, practically mint, for $475 -- essentially what you'd pay for a relatively good set of OTCTMT (Other-Than-Callaway/TaylorMade/Titleist) irons.

Parameter 3 didn't figure in either...obviously, Callaway products cannot be considered overlooked.

I have been playing Wilson Deep Red II distance Irons. I would have happily still be playing them because they are simply the best Overlooked/Under marketed/Underpriced clubs ever made. My plan was to just keep playing them unless something came along that was a LOT better. I am a mid-handicapper (9.0 -- 12.0 depending on how much I practice and how the short game's going) and the Wilson' simply allowed me to hit the ball with long, mid, and short irons straight and long -- not bad qualities in an iron!. What they don't do is spin the ball much or provide a lot of feel for touch shots. The Wilson's have some distance gaps, but they are manageable. Also, the large head size can make some
lies a bit tough.

The Fusion irons, on the other hand, have none of the drawbacks. Cosmetically, they are nice albeit high-tech looking. At address they are more traditional looking with a topline much thinner than you may expect from Cally.

Thry're accurate, as long as the Wilsons (7 iron= 160) and incredibly forgiving without sacrificing feel. There is adequate feedback to tell exactly where on the face the ball was struck, but mis-hits are handled nicely. There is very little loss of distance or line. You can hit them high, low, knock 'em down and lean on them. Play a fade or draw, but don't expect a lot of cut or hookage.

The long irons are easier to hit than the Wilsons -- and that says a lot. NO club I've ever played had easier to hit long irons. The feel, distance and control are consistant throughout the set.

My shafts are uniflex steels, and your milage may vary -- I've hit Fusions with S-300 shafts and they were a bit longer, but also a bit heavier.

The short irons and wedge are real confidence boosters, and it's easy to pick a target and go.

I've played (in addition to the Wilsons) Ping ISI and I-3+ Blades, Mizuno MP-32's and have experienced various TaylorMade RAC configurations and must say that, for my game, the Fusions are by far the best fit.

  Great price, Great item

I've used this set of club for 2 year and needed to replace a shaft of 6th.
During finding new same shaft, I found this single club and got it.
It's really awsome and almost new in function and shape.
To save your money, find the one in eBay first.

  Big Bertha Fusion review

The Fusion iron lacks the cavity back and forgiveness that the x20 employs. I bought it for my wife to try and once I saw the design up close I sold it to Play it Again Sports. A more advance player will enjoy these clubs but not the Mrs.

New does not always look "NEW"

I needed the club so I'm satisfied, but it was listed as NEW and was very scuffed up. It may have never been hit as stated in the description... maybe used in a homicide.

I bought it for the title and overall value of the club.I was impressed however, for the crisp feeling while still hitting graphite! Not used to bick backed clubs, but this one has been a breeze!

If you're going to rate your seller for selling fake clubs and NOT reviewing the actual clubs...at LEAST post their user name so no one else will be scammed by the same member. Thanks.

Product was not even close to Title , very deceptive .

Would like a truthful description of product , I am not a experienced user of EBAY and feel I was taken for a ride with this product . Chalked it up to experience but would like a better description or better more honest . I will be extremely leary from now on but will continue to try , I am sure there are honest sellers out there . My bad for not paying better attention to the items I was purchasing . Should add very poor to the ratings , feel that would better apply to my experience on this purchase .
Thanks for the opportunity to vent I feel better now !!!

Callaway Fusion Irons in Regular Steel
Review created: 03/29/07
by:
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Overpriced and similar in feel to the Ping Raptures (using a regular steel shaft). The clubs seem to feel dead with any kind of ball I used and does soak up vibrations-good and bad-like good and bad colesterol. I found it hard to determine how a bad shot was hit and lost quite a bit of distance vs my Ping G5s. I think graphite shafts-although much more expensive are better. If you want a forgiving club, go all the way and get the graphites.

Needless to say, I had the irons for 2 months and had to go to EBAY.

  Callaway Fusion 6 iron
Review created: 08/09/06
by:
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I bought this Fusion 6 iron because I was interested in the technology of the club and wanted to try it out before investing in the full set. This is one of the most expensive sets out there when purchased new. The first thing that I look for in a club is how it looks at address. Does it give me confidence that I can easily hit the ball flush. Next is the weight of the head. After that, how does it feel when I hit the ball. Finally, how does the ball fly: distance, accuracy, and trajectory. I liked the look of it at address and was confident of hitting it well. The head was heavier that I was used to, but wasn't uncomfortable. Every shot feels solid when hit well, but not perfect. Distance is probably a little longer than my other 6 irons. It's at least as forgiving at the others if not more. Trajectory is good--not too high.
