I saw this item in good price, i check the feedbacks and the location of the product, this irons was my second winning auction, i bought the irons, i payed very quickly and i contacted the seller, "she" was very friendly and told me that "she have a problem with is paypal acount, she send me the irons, at this point all was correct, but when the irons arrive.. surprise, the irons was a bad imitation, the worst clones that I saw. I try to contact the seller, but obviously, "she" disappears without trace.
Always check the feedbacks, if the seller have 99,9% possitive, search the 0,01% negative and see why he has a negative feedback. In golf products, specially golf clubs, always buy in US locations, im from Chile and never had a problem with my US sellers. Ask all your questions, ask for the serial numbers, the cost of shipping, some times the description is very poor and get a lot of blank spaces, YOU ARE THE BUYER, AND THE BUYER ALWAYS HAVE THE REASON.
Sorry about my English, i try to put my experience.

I used two different clubs before. Since I am a high handicapper I need forgiving clubs. Big Bertha 2006 graphite suits well with my purpose. They even provide me an extra 5 to 10 yard for each club. They have wider sole that prevent fat shots. But If you want to give the ball a greater back spin, you might want to try other clubs.

I ordered what was listed as Callaway irons 2006. This item was located in Calf or so e-bay said. The golf clubs were shipped from China. They turned out to be FAKES. Only PAY PAL saved me from a loss.

  I LOVE These Clubs

I was very skepticle about purchasing these irons on EBay. I am the kind of person that makes my purchases backwards. I research on the open market and then come to EBay to make my purchase. I have trusted EBay for a long time, but recent events (with horrible sellers, and misrepresented product delivery) has made me nervous about buying on EBay. Be careful who you buy from, and make sure your proucts are advertised as BRAND NEW and are shipped from within the United States. Otherwise the seller has the ability to say he did not mispresent the product, or your money can be removed from the sellers account and deposited to a personal account off shore within the 10 days EBay requires you to wait to file a claim. If Paypal cannot collect their money, they will not refund yours. Read your auctions well, and buy from people who offer Paypal buyer protection. If you haven't learned those lessons the hard way, I hope you don't have to learn them. Anyway, like I was saying I made this purchase backwards, and this transaction went well, so I want to product to get a GREAT review. I spent about 3 hours in the PGA Superstore simmulator hitting different irons to decide which clubs would be best for me. I recommend you do the same. I am a 1 year amatuer so I am not very good, and I found these irons to hit the ball cleaner and straighter than any other clubs I tried. I have played with the clubs now for over a month, and they have improved my score by at least 10 strokes a round. I still shoot in the mid 90's but the more I get used to these great quality irons, the better I get. I would highly recommend these irons to any new golfer. For the pro's I would say the Callaway X20 Tour Irons were the best. I had a little trouble controlling my accuracy with them, but they definitely felt a little more stable through my swing. That series will be my next investment, but I will probably wait for about a years use of these irons because they are such good learning clubs (for me). As long as you are 100% sure you are getting the actual Callway Big Bertha Irons from Callaway with a valid serial number for registration, and as long as you KNOW the irons are BRAND NEW, I say go for it. Make sure you buy from reputable sellers. Make sure you ask ALL the questions before you buy, and I would stay away from these irons used, because mine have only been used 1 month, and are very clearly worn. One other thing. I never use my 3 iron. I would recommend getting the set with the sand wedge, and invest in a hybrid rather than the 3 iron. The sand wedge bought separate is a wopping 85 bucks at the PGA store!!! That was almost 1/4 what I paid for my whole set of irons! I paid 399.00 for my set brand new in the Callaway box with the serial number. After I registered them on the Callaway site, Callaway sent me some iron labels with my name on it so I know if my iron gets found by an honest golder, it will be returned. I hope my review helped in your purchase.

Good luck,

Dustin

  Buyer Beware!
Review created: 02/01/07
8 of 10 people found this review helpful.

Unfortunately, I can't say whether I like them or not. I bought a set and found that they were counterfeit. They look like the real things but Callaway confirmed that the serial number is for a Driver, not a set of irons. All that I can say is "BEWARE". With that said, my son has the X-16's and they are really nice. I would think that the 2006s would be comparable and maybe a little better. Unfortunately, I don't know thanks to a scammer in China!!! I would caution you, if they ship from China, don't buy. ALso, look at the seller's feedback. If they are low or have a lot of positives for things such as selling "gmail invitations", STAY AWAY!!!

I am very happy with the clubs. I had Calloway VFTs before. I switched to the Ping G5s and I had a hard time with the feel of the lighter head. I switched back to the Calloway. These clubs have a good feel for me.

BOGUS. They tried to use my account to sell NON-exista
Review created: 05/01/07
by:
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

Be careful. Someone accessed my account today and listed 9 sets of clubs for $378.95 per set. BOGUS. I am NOT the seller. Ebay has been notified. BE careful if you think you are buying these clubs. I have read other reviews and it appears they have targeted these clubs as easy sells and SOME sales were BOGUS.

I found out because a potential seller asked me a question about what I was selling. I picked up my email and followed up to find the BOGUS listings thru my account. They had bogus information to a PAYPAL account which was NOT mine.

CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION

First time I have been scammed on the internet, but now I know if CAN happen.

  Callaway Big Bertha 06
Review created: 02/04/08

A great iron for sure. The top line is an adjustment at first, very thick and bulky looking for a guy used to blades. This is dismissed shortly after your first full round with these clubs. Solid at contact, workable and instant feedback. Impossible for a non- forged iron you say. Believe me, I've played this game almost 50 years, the first set of Bertha's I had I kept exactly 1 month, sold them and started hitting Hogan's.
I tried these in 04 and realized Callaway Bertha's were by far an entirely different club. As I said, very smooth to swing and once you get used to the thick top line and slight offset, What a club. Consistent yardage with each club and the look of a wiiner. I rate this their best ever.

  Better than TaylorMade

Excellent irons. I replaced my Nicklaus irons with the Bertha 2006 set. I did compare them side by side with TaylorMade irons at Golf Galaxy, and the Callaways went 7-10 yards further on every shot. I'm sure this is just a result I had, but it was real. Great feeling clubs, very consistant, really nice feel and sound.

Highly recommended.

  Great set of irons!
Review created: 07/30/07

4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

First off, I'm an average golfer, not great by any means. These irons are very forgiving. I had a set of Spalding Tour Flite O/S irons that I used for about 11 years. I just purchased these Callaway's last month. I was a little hesitant to switch from a true O/S to a smaller cavity back. I can hardly notice a difference.

First time out I shot an 88 which is about my avg. I love the wide sole. I also enjoy the thicker shafts. May take some getting used to at first. I have only played 3 rounds with these irons but I absolutely love them!

I can't comment on how much "extra yardage" they may or may not have given me. I'm also not concerned with the shot-shaping ability of a club at this point in my game. If your score falls into the 85-95 range and you wan't a quality set of irons for a great price I would definitely recomend these! I got my set brand new off eBay for $400 (retail is $599 from Callaway's website). Beware, there are a lot of fakes out there! Get in writing from seller the clubs are 100% authentic, if they are not, file a dispute with PayPal or eBay. I had my clubs authenticated from Callaway. I would highly suggest this if buy off eBay.

  Great Irons

4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

These clubs are amazing! I usually shoot in the upper 80's lower 90's and these clubs have helped a lot. They are very forgiving and have a nice feel to them. I have the 2006 big berthas with steel shafts and they hit the ball further and straighter than any clubs ive ever owned. Highly recommended for beginning players and people who are average and want to improve their game!

  Back to forgiveness
Review created: 02/16/08
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I played BB's before and while my game improved I wanted more of it and decided to move to another brand and style (less forgiveness but more playable). Due unexpected changes in my life I had to quit playing and when resumed, my game was not near close to what it had been. Since I am not playing as often I decided to move to more forgiveness again; the result was simply awesome. Although these irons appear to be more for beginners, they for sure help in maintaining your game. Kind of bulky though but once you hit them you will forget its appearance. Long irons are more in line with hybrids style due to its size and this makes them easy to hit. For a player considering a change for the better, go with the Big Bertha's, even if you are a mid-handicapper, they are the easiest irons to hit. Resale value is also a plus with Callaway, you won't go wrong if you upgrade or change to new clubs this brand when you sell your older clubs.

2006 Callaway Big Bertha Irons 3-PW
Review created: 10/27/07
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I am a beginning golfer and I want to get better at it. I have been playing two years now and I wasn't getting any better. My fist mistake was thinking that I was going to be good at it and buying a set of used X-14 Pro Series irons that I never got confortable with. I am 5'5" and had the irons custom fitted (-3/4), but was never able to get consistency out of them. I started looking for a game improving set of irons. I did alot of research on the '06 Big Bertha irons and read alot of good things about them and fell in love with the pictures of them. I bought a set with the uniflex steel shafts for half the price on eBay that were in near mint condition and when they arrrived, I immediately started swinging them. You can't beat the prices on eBay. Let me tell you, the irons feel just right. They are absolutely beautiful. They are exactly what I needed. Upon my first trip to the range, I was able to see what these irons could do. I read somewhere that one of the cons was not being able to work the ball. I couldn't work the X-14's, but I was able to hit high fades and draws just by simply positioning my feet and adjusting the swing path with the Big Berthas. These clubs are extremely easy to hit. What amazes me is the fact that I don't feel I will need to have these custom fitted. I don't know if it is the super wide soles on these irons or what, but I feel like they were made for me. I get the feeling that it doesn't matter how tall you are, these irons are constructed to help your game. Accurate? Why, yes they are. Out of a bucket of balls on my first trip, I hooked one and sliced two shots. Not bad, I think. Thanks to eBay, I can now hang with the big boys on the course.

  bertha 2006 irons

These are probably the easiest irons to hit in golf. Any decent swing will hit it high and straight. Probably the only negative if any is that it is harder to shape shots with them because of their super game improvement design. If you want to start hitting really nice looking straight iron shots., these are right up their with the best, if not the best.

CALLAWAY 2006 BIG BERTHA IRONS 4-PW

THE CLUBS ARE HEAVY AND FORGIVING. I HAVE SHOT IN THE LOW 80'S MY 2 ROUNDS PLAYED. MY REGRET WAS I HAD TO PURCHASE NEW CALLAWAY GRIPS. THE CALLAWAY 2006 BIG BERTHA IRONS ARE AT THE BUYER BE WARE, AS ONLY THE 8 IRON CONTAINS A SERIAL NUMBER TO VERIFY WITH CALLAWAY AND TO REGISTER THE IRONS. CALLAWAY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO SEND THE IRONS TO THEM TO ENSURE MY PURCHASE WAS REAL AND NOT FAKE. THIS MAKES YOU KIND OF LEARY OF PURCHASING ITEMS ON EBAY AT THIS TIME. OTHERWISE, I AM PLEASED WITH MY PURCHASE.

This is the first set of golf clubs that I have ever owned. The golf pro at the local course recommended the Big Bertha irons because they were very forgiving. I am taking lessons and I don't know if its the lesson or the clubs but WOW it feels good watching it go straight. I highly recommend these clubs.

Callaway has been and always will be a great name in golf clubs. The Big Bertha 2006 model will not disappoint. I got these clubs last week and was amazed at how well I was hitting the ball and getting it airborne. I'm a beginner at golf and all I've ever had was hand-me-down clubs that no one else could hit, much less me. All of that has changed now. I'm ready to start keeping score! As soon as you square-up to the ball you'll see the difference too!

Callaway X-20 Tour Irons 3-SW (BUYER BEWARE!)
Review created: 12/05/08
by:
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

There are sets of these "Callaway" irons available right now on EBAY. They are sold thru a U.S. seller but the shipping comes from China. They list their items under the category of International Sellers. The are nothing more than fairly decent "Knock-offs". I got a set inspected by Callaway and they confirmed they are fake. BUYER BEWARE!!! The serial # on the 8 iron is a reproduction of a legit # off another Callaway set and here's the kicker.... The seller tells you that the reason the Sand Wedge is available in this set is because it was made by Callaway for distribution ONLY in Mainland China. This is an outright lie! Callaway NEVER made the SW in the X-20 Tour Irons. Not in the US, not in China, nowhere! These sellers have virtually no feedback rating. They are fly by night sellers. Don't waste your money or your time.

Despite being +1 shaft length these irons feel great and added about 7-10 yards per iron.Off balance ,off center,mis-hits still go in the direction intended. Even a "fat" shot will still get loft and have a good carry. The 4-sw is the more usefull set to get.

  Callaway Big Bertha 2006 Irons
Review created: 04/25/08
by:
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

These are the BB irons that everybody should have been waiting for. Unfortunately, I beleive they managed to slip under the radar. These are truly one of the BEST game improvemsnt irons either Callaway or any other manufactured has produced. You can get basically the same irons in 6-PW with the new 2008 BB irons, but the new I-Brids (3,4,5) are terrible. Either try and find a nice used or maybe a new leftover set of 2006 BB's (if you are lucky like me). Or, if you must have the new 08's just be prepared to throw away the 3,4,5 and get some real hybrids (may I suggest the Callaway Fusion).

Thanks and good luck,
apc-va

Good clubs for beginner/novice as they promote good contact on almost all shots, but if you are not a novice, then probably not for you (I am about an 11 handicap). Challenge to consistently shape shots (fade/draw) and almost impossible to keep shots down, as they tend to balloon.

All will enjoy good distance, even on mishits. Poor shots will not always end up with a lost ball ;-)
