I love my BB 2004 irons. They are easy to look at and easier to hit than blades. You can mishit and still hit further. Wouldn't trade them for any other iron. Very pleased.

  Newer not always better

These are a solid set of irons regardless of the shafts installed. A little cleaner looking than the original 94 and 96 models, however the mid 90s models are every bit as playable (easy to hit), possibly more, when compared to the updated models.

BB 2004 Easiest to hit ever
Review created: 04/22/06

I have played many different irons from Ping O size, ISI, eye2 TM super-steel , Wilson fat-shafts and Nike slingshots. None were as easy to hit as the BB's. Even bad swings that have no business being in the fairway are forgiven more often than not. If you want an "automatic point and shoot" iron look no further.

Save money on Big Bertha irons.

These clubs were slightly used, but well cared for and I saved over two hundred dollars by purchasing used over new or even demo clubs. Cannot find any significant differences between the 2006 and 2004 models other than cosmetics and a couple of hundred additional dollars. Great clubs.

  BBs Improved my score
Review created: 08/25/06

I bought my used 2004 BBs (4-10+50* wedge) with graphite 75i shafts a couple of weeks ago on ebay. I was suspicious about all the fake Callaway clubs out there. When these arrived, I checked to see if the 8 iron had a Callaway Serial number. Whew! It was there. So far Ive used them on about 72 holes of golf. All I can say is smooth feel, more distance on fat shots, fun to play with and my score on 9 holes went from 48-50 with my old 26 year old Delta irons, to a 41-45 in one weeks time. I'm itting the sweet spot almost every time. Now I have to focus on club selection because these have added about 15-20 yards to each stroke as well. Overall I ighly recommend these. I opted for the 2004 BBs instead of the 2006 BBs because of the difference in cost. Someday I may upgrade to the new 2008 BBs, but right now I'm happy grabbing frequent pars and rare birdies.

  Callaway Big Bertha Irons

The Big Bertha Irons are excellent. I've played Callaway for about 10 years. I've tried other clubs, although I hit them OK my comfort level with Callaway is what keeps me playing these clubs. These new clubs are more forgiving than my X12's and I hit them about 15yds further per club. The clubs are so forgiving, and set up so nicely, I'm comfortable hitting the 3 iron as much as my hybrid wood.

Callaway Big Bertha 2004 Irons set Golf Clubs
Review created: 04/04/07

The 2004 Big Bertha Iron set is one of Callaway's most forgiving iron sets ever. This set features wide soles, deep cavities, a slight offset, and Callaway's VFT technology. These features combine to give these irons a high MOI (moment-of-inertia). Basically, the higher the MOI, the more forgiving the club is on mishits. By moving more of the weight lower in the clubhead and below the ball, it's easier to get the ball airborne. Poor hits turn into OK shots. I've acutally hit the ground 3 inches behind the ball with a 4 iron from this set, and the ball still got in the air and went straight. It only went about 130 yards, but my playing partners just thought I was laying up. Besides that, I personally think these are the best looking Big Bertha irons yet.

I have a 5 handicap and have played a few sets of irons in my day. This is the most forgiving iron out there. I recommend that if you want to feel like you may be better than you ever have been, get this club!

  Unbelievable Improvement
Review created: 08/03/06
6 of 8 people found this review helpful.

In the past, I would struggle to get below 110 on my golf score...don't play frequently enough, but would get that one par that would keep me coming back. My brother recommended to get a more forgiving set of irons such as these to improve my game since I DON'T play every week (about once a month is all I can do) and I have now dropped below 100 and into the 90's "bogey" golf. The clubs are just that more forgiving for occasional players and I have enjoyed them a great deal. I would recommend them to any marginal player for greater enjoyment from the game. Someday I hope to use them more frequently, but for now, keeping the ball in the fairway and getting a few pars, bogeys, and some occasional snow men on the scorecard is keeping the game fun for me and the other duffers that suffer through the game with me.

Big Bertha 2004 Irons the real thing
Review created: 07/10/06
6 of 8 people found this review helpful.

I love golf although at times it was so frustrating I thought about buying a bowling ball. I decided that I was going to get a better set of clubs. A friend highly recommended Callaway 2004 irons. I bid on several sets and finally was the successful bidder. I love these clubs. I have never hit a ball straighter in my life. The first time I played with them I shot a really good round for me, thought I was kind of lucky with the new irons. The next time was a little better. I played again the last weekend and wow, I'm playing the best golf of my life.
The guys that play on TV don't have anything to worry about, but the guys that have been giving me a whipping for years are in for a surprise.
These are great clubs and Callaway has always had a reputation for Quality. I would highly recommend them. I've thanked my friend numerous times for his help in my search for a better game.

  2004 Big Bertha Iron Set
Review created: 01/08/07

I purchased this set of irons on ebay paying close attention to the description and condition rating. The clubs were exactly as they were described and I immediately took them out on the golf course. I had previously heard that you pay extra for the brand name (Callaway) but the difference in feel and quality of materials did make a difference. I highly recommend anyone looking for a quality set of clubs at a reasonable price to consider these clubs.

Personally this is still the best sets of irons available. Callaway has a great line of irons but to me this year/set still feels the best. I've tested all of their new irons which are great but I always come back to these. Very forgiving. Great for any player, new to old. I decided to buy these because I loved them when they first came out and bought a knock off set because I didn't have the money at the time. Now five years later I'm still in love them and decided to buy the real set. Can't go wrong with these. I can't think of anything I don't like about them, so no cons from me. Excellent set of irons.

  Big Bertha 2004 Iron Sets
Review created: 06/04/08

The Big Bertha 2004 Iron Set (4 - PW)is without a doubt, among the easiest to hit irons out there. I chose steel shafts to help keep flex to a minimum and produce the most consistent swing possible. I upgraded from a name-brand (but inexpensive) set and saw an immediate improvement in my game. I am a medium to high handicapper and feel as if there couldn't possibly be a set of irons that are more forgiving than the Berthas. I saw an immediate improvement as far as consistency - hitting quality shots more often. Also, I am no longer afraid to hit low irons. I used to dread hitting my 4 or 5 - now they produce some of my most consistent shots. I have absolutely no regrets or complaints about purchasing my Berthas.

  2004 BB Callaway irons

I've been drewling over these clubs for two years. Didn't want to pay the price, so I had clones made up. Don't quite have the same weight as the Big Bertha clubs. The clones are nice but the Callaways are great. First I fell in love with the looks of the clubs, but you have to hold one in your hand to appreciate the Quality. I can't wait until the Wisconsin snow melts so I can get out and use them. Bottom line; "you get what you pay for".

Pros - Solid hits feel great. Large sweet spot. gets the ball airbore easily. great feedback from clubs. I can hit a slight fade without it turning into a slice. I have hit a draw that turned into a hook. Hit these higher and gained about 5-7 yards per club over my old irons.

CONS - It's taking a while to develope the same feel for distance when chipping with the gap and pitching wedge. Almost put my old gap wedge back in the back for chipping, but decided give these a few more months.

  Soft feel, consistant distance
Review created: 05/02/06

Played with many sets of irons in my 40 some years of golfing, and have never found a more soft and consistant feel, from Staff blades in the 70`s & early 80`s, to the nice feel of Pings, in the 90`s to the present. Easy to look at, an make the ball, "Land like a butterfly, with sore feet." tomke2006

  Callaway 2004 BB irons

2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I bought a very good looking, hardly used, set on Ebay for a very decent price. The BB 2004s hit straight! The fact is it is difficult NOT to hit them straight! They might hit a tad shorter than the 2004 set I have but I am happy to trade that for their fault corrections. An excellent set for someone who doesn't make perfect contact with the ball 100% of the time.

Why I bought Callaway Big Bertha Irons
Review created: 06/08/07

2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I love everything about these Irons. They are the most forgiving clubs I've ever played. I get good results from off center hit's. I'm a senior and I was losing distance with my old Irons. These Irons gave me my distance back. With the graphite shaft's I don't feel any vibration. I would recomend these clubs for anybody. I love them, They have improved my game.
