I don't understand how some people can think it is bad

I read the reviews elsewhere on this and I was not sure if I was going to get it.
    I think they were wrong.
I own Call of Duty 3 for the XBox 360.
Reviews said Call of Duty 4 was "More of the Same".
I don't know if it is the PS3 or the Duty 4, but this game is alot better than Duty 3 on my 360. The Smoke effects are better. The Water is amazing... Damn shot again starring at the water...
I noticed something in Resistance Fall of man that is also present in this game, Everything is alive. The Grass whisps in the wind, this makes the environment come alive.
I think Resistance does the Ambiance better, but it is nicely done here too.
Swinging the Sixaxis as if to do a Rifle Butt causes your on screen character to do a Rifle Butt... Cool...
The Driving Sequences using the Sixaxis takes a little getting used to, however you can still drive via the Analog stick as well.
Graphics are Very nice, I did not see the Frame Rate Problems spoke of by the Reviewer. The Sound is very good. I did not give the Sound a 10 though because after playing Resistance where there is more clips of audio from the AI characters, I found hearing the same thing over and over again to be very "Last Gen" of Course my "Next Gen" 360 has the same problem. I think it stems from people starting to use the Extra capacity available on the BluRay disc.

Free Online Thanks to Sony. Goodbye XBox Live. Until Microsoft gives Live for Free, I will not renew. The Microsoft Fanboys keep trying to convince me that the Xbox Live is somehow better, well... after using them both I can not see the "greatness" that constitutes $50 a year.

If you liked Call of Duty 3, You will love Call of Duty 4.
Man I could sit here all day Whiping my Sixaxis all day. Rifle Butt. Rifle Butt. Yes. Yes. Yes.
I hope they keep adding these little touches to the Future PS3 games.

      BEST GAME EVER!!
    Review created: 02/24/08

Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare is by far one of the most realistic games I have ever played. Wither you are a passenger in the back of a car, or if you are trying to escape from a sinking ship. This game brings real life physics into a video game. The graphics are amazing, the weapons are realistic, the Single player is outstanding, and the online play seems to be one of my favorites so far. The Storyline in this game is great.

Multiplayer is the best online game I have EVER played. It has the rank system which could be a bad thing, since it keeps me playing and can become an addiction, but the maps are great, teams and weapons are great. You get many options when playing this game. The game has been out for a little more than 24 hours and there are already hundreds of servers to choose from. I love this game!!!! My favorite game out there. 10/10, 5 stars of 5 stars, 100% amazing!! A must buy game!!

Unlike the other Call Of Duty Games, you are actually part of a squad, and you play together rather than having something go wrong during a mission, and you having to go solo to reach the objective. The game seems to be steady so far. I have not come across any glitches, and has yet to crash.

I usually don't like buying games the day they come out, because I like to wait and see if they are truely worth the $59.99. In this case, I took a risk, but it turned out that this is the best game I own, and I own a lot of games. If you liked Rainbow Six Vegas, Modern Warfare is at least 20 times better in my opinion. Modernwarfare is not runs a lot smoother but the gameplay is better, the storyline is more realistic, the graphics are much better, and its the best Call Of Duty game yet! I would highly recommend this game!

If you have any questions about this game that I did not mention here, please contact me, I would be more than happy to answer all of your questions about this game. If I did not mention a certain detail that you would like to know, just tell me and I will add it here. Thank You

      Top-Notch Tactical FPS!

After all these successful Call of duties, its clear that Call of duty is the best war experience available. After fighting in many different wars in the past, things take a turn, and now you are fighting in the future (current day).

With all these new weapons, options, strengthened multiplayer, voted best of E3 2007, and much more, does this title live up to what it's previous titles did? Yes, and much more!

Presentation- Lots of options, great story line, many different modes, and an awesome box art.

Graphics- Very good graphics, amazing textures, but the cut scenes could have been a little better, but still very good.

Sound- Sound hasn't been a let down in the call of duty series, and its not about to change, from the battle music, to the weaponry, everything is nearly perfect

Gameplay- Probably the best, most realistic gameplay I've ever seen, tactical fans, open your eyes.

Lasting Appeal- If online wasn't here, it just wouldn't be as good, but its here and better than ever. Story mode is descent in length and can defiantly be replayed .

Overall- To put it in short, it is the most realistic, best looking FPS I have ever played, period. PS3 owners really should look into buying this game because it is well worth the money.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare: Detailed Review
    Review created: 08/29/07

    Gameplay
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will introduce a variety of game play styles into the single player campaign completely new to the Call of Duty series. The game moves away from the standard three country-specific campaign style, and allows the plot to play through more like a film style plot with interlaced story lines from the perspective of the player as a member of the US 1st Force Recon and a member of the British 22nd SAS Regiment. There is also a variety of cameo-style missions where you play as various other soldiers such as an AC-130 Gunship gunner, or as one part of a two man sniper team behind enemy lines in a flashback style mission.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will focus on the variation of modern warfare as an infantry soldier by allowing the player to control soldiers in a vast amount of different scenarios, straying away from the constant "at eleven" action of previous Call of Duty titles and allowing for both heavy intensity fire fights and slower paced drama styled intensity. The developer, Infinity Ward, has so far told about a handful of such levels including where the player will be the gunner of an AC-130 gunship and the pilot of a AH-1 SuperCobra helicopter providing air support.

The series' move to modern warfare has also introduced a variety of new modern weapons and technology to be introduced to the Call of Duty franchise. Such showcased weapons and attachments include M203 grenade launchers, IR laser pointers for use in conjunction with night vision goggles, silenced MP5SD submachine guns, and the FGM-148 Javelin portable anti-tank guided missile among many others.

    [edit] Plot
A Russian nationalist by the name of Zakhaev is set on returning his homeland to the Soviet times. Zakhaev knows the United States would never allow this to happen, thus he funds a coup in the Middle East, organized by his ally Al-Asad, to draw attention away from Russia. The two men and their seconds-in-command gain the nickname The Four Horsemen. However, the British and US governments have been monitoring Zakhaev's activities and discover his real intentions. The story is told from a perspective of a British 22nd SAS Regiment operative in Russia and American 1st Force Recon in the Middle East.

The game also features a flashback mission set 15 years ago in the Chernobyl Zone of Alienation, which features a new incarnation of Captain Price from 22nd SAS Regiment, the only character to appear in both of the first two games of the series. He needs to assassinate Zakhaev, but his mission fails because his Captain gets wounded and he has to get out him of the Zone of Alienation.[3] Whether this new Price will be confirmed to be a relative of the WWII era Price remains to be seen. It is also believed that the assasination attempt had left Zakhaev with only one arm.

The game features following as playable characters:

Lieutenant Price, 22nd SAS Regiment (15 years ago)
Sergeant John "Soap" MacTavish, 22nd SAS Regiment (present)
Sergeant Paul Jackson, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment (later Staff Sergeant as part of 1st Force Recon Co., U.S.M.C.) (present)
Their names are seen in mission info which is seen in published gameplay footage of the game. Further characters are unknown.

    [edit] Multiplayer

    [edit] Hardcore Mode
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has been announced to have a new mode called Hardcore Mode. In multiplayer, users can choose to play standard game types

      COD4 Call Of Duty 4 - Playstation 3 PS3 - Great Game!

As another reviewer mentioned the details of the grass, smoke, water and pebbles in the rocks are really cool, as well as all the graphics in the game.

You can get through the easiest difficulty setting in about 6-8 hours. This is where you want to gather all the intel you can as finding all the hidden intel will give you unlimited ammo..:-)! As you increase the difficulty level, the fighting does intensify and gets a little more technical.

The one downside for me was that if you stay in one place & pick your enemies off they tend to be replaced very quick. Sometimes you have to move in closer to ultimately take them out for good. It is fun, although not so "real" with them replenishing so quickly & never ending until you advance.

Other features like shooting below from your chopper ride, cool night vision and the high altitude bombing raids give a sense of realism, and as the title says, "Modern Warfare".

A great improvement over C.O.D.3 and a must have for the gamer into FPS games.

Please vote YES below if you found this review helpful. THANKS!
