The single player campaign in Call of Duty 2 is nothing short of enthralling. From the very beginning, a certain bond is developed between the main hero and his comrades because everybody is watching out for one another. Instead of feeling like you can take out all of Nazi Germany on your own with just a Thompson, it will take all of your available resources to survive. Typically, missions will involve your squad either being forced to push through enemy lines or defend a certain location, and in both instances the battles will be epic.
of Duty 2 can be played split screen and over Xbox Live, and the shooter experience translates very nicely from the PC to the Xbox 360. The typical game modes are present, including Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, and Capture the Flag. In addition to the Russian, British, and American soldiers you can control in the single-player mode, you can also take role of your favorite Nazi in this Axis vs. Allies brawl. It is a little disappointing because only 8 players can be in a game at a time, but having 16 players could have its fair share of problems as well. 8 player games can be extremely laggy right from the start to the point where the game isn’t playable at all. There isn’t any lobby for you to select a game room; instead you can choose to participate in a ranked or unranked match, then you’ll randomly be placed with other players.

Still, once you manage to get into a steady server with at least 6 people, the game is going to be loads of fun. The maps are big enough to accommodate snipers, yet small enough to allow foot soldiers to do some major damage. The best part about the online play is that there is always more than one path to take to get to the back of your enemy’s base. Because of this, a bothersome sniper may think he has the upper hand once he kills a few oblivious troops, but there’s nothing more satisfying than beating him to death with the butt of your rifle. Overall, playing online or split screen with your friends is loads of fun, especially if you don’t feel like following objectives.

While the gameplay in Call of Duty 2 is commendable by itself, the outstanding presentation value makes the entire experience memorable. The Xbox 360 truly shows off its next generation capabilities, which are all the more enjoyable if you have an HDTV. The character models have lifelike movements and are heavily detailed, although the textures can look a little grainy if you get too close. The particle effects are stunning; the muzzle flash from a gun will light up the screen, while a smoke grenade can safely shadow your squad from hailing turret fire. The environments also look top notch no matter how closely you scrutinize the textures, and there aren’t any rough edges to speak of.

Likewise, an intense war game wouldn’t be complete without a sufficient audio performance. As expected, the chaos on the battlefield won’t only be seen, but it will be heard as well. Comrades will chant together as they rush out in their last hurrah while some will shriek once the first bullet pierces their skin. The blaring machine guns, powerful sniper rifles, and heavy grenade explosions are all accompanied by a dramatic soundtrack that suits the mood nicely. Being on the battlefield in Call of Duty 2 is an enthralling experience that will leave your heart pounding in awe.

Call of duty is an amzing first person shooter. It has realsitic weapons and absolutely gripping Artificial intelligence. the graphics are crazy sick. this is a must have game for any first person shooter fan.

This game is hands down the best launch title for the Xbox 360. The game has both single and multiplayer modes. In the single player mode you play as either a soldier from the USSR (Russia), England, or U.S.A. Thanks to the games amazing audio, you really feel as if you are a member of the Red Army (Russians), United States, and England. Battles are intense! Along with the amazing audio, the enemy's AI is fantastic. For example, if you and your men go down an alleyway on Veteran Mode, the Nazis more than likely will flank you in an attempt to counterattack you. Besides all that, the game has stunning visuals all around, the graphics are incredible! The multiplayer is a fun addition to the game where you can play with or against people from around the world via Xbox Live. With tons of missions and various difficulty settings, this game has tons of replay value. If you can only get one game right now for your Xbox 360 make it Call of Duty 2, you won't regret it.

With so many War World II game titles out on the market today you would think that most people had enough them. Especially the bad ones that so often sneack in on their quest to take a piggy back ride on a good title. Lucky for us all Call of Duty 2 isn't one of thos and frankly very far from it. One chaotic battle after another make this game hard to place down. Call of Duty 2 stays a bit true to the first call of duty with Campaign strures as you can Russian, British and Americann grunts. What's I like about this single player is that it doen't feel like your alone. It's is squad base and you have people fighting by you when you clear a building or bunker out. Some time it reminds me a bit of Repulic Commando. In CoD2 it is usally you nd your squad job to repel invasion or lead an attack again impossible odds unitil reenforcement comes. Not a big fan of the linear path CoD2 take as it leads you along, I would kind like to a explore a little on my own. But the movie type clips help as the story unfolds before you. But lets face it, it would be CoD2 with out movies in it. Changing campaigns in games at will in game is nice. If you finished one russian stage, then you can switch to a Britch stage.
Weapons in CoD2 are really nice. It;s is usually pointless to run around shoting. You usaaly miss any way. Alot different then Half Life or Conter Strike. Best tatics are to stop aim and take cover. When enemies take cover or hide in a fox hole it is time to flush them out with a few gernades. Also when you see the green grnade insictor light up it is usally a clue you have to run and really fast. Blue blazes!! Why did they take my health bar and armor away from me. CoD2 is using this new system to tell when oyur talking damage that makes your screen go a bit transparent as you get hit and then turns complete bloody when you are close to death,. Starting to breath heavy is a bad sign. Hopeful the screen being splaterd wit the red vission of blood gave you the firs clue. This isn;t at all an unrealistic aproach . I would think that a unrealistic approach would be the health packs and armor packs scattered over the battle feild. Retreat when you need to recover, just like in Halo.
Play with the AI is fun, however they are limited and do not do all the work for you. CoD2 graphic are great and over all eye candy and you will be amazed at ever turn. This game will quick turn in to a classic.

CoD2Mutiplayer hasn't really changed much. They added free for all deathmatch. Mutiplaye is team based: team DM, Capture the Flag, Search and Destroy and Blah Blah blah. There are even a few good mods out for it now. "Headquarters"is one of them and it is an offical Mod.Your team tries to take control of a radio that spawns in at different points if the map. Your Job is basic to maintain controlas long as possible. Several Maps from the first Call of Duty have ported to CoD2 giving you a lot of what what work well in the first agme and dding on to it.
Call of Duty is a great game that will leave you hungry for battle or running and hiding form it. Some fights are so big that you may have to take a break evenn if you don't want to. Basicly the developers are sticking with what is working for them here while at the same time sill taking steo ahead in the right direction. I would have to give this game an A+.

INTRO:
The setting is world war 2. You can play many different sides including the Americans, Germans, Russians, and Brittains. The plot takes you through as an ally against the axis powers.

PROS:
The plot was really good. I just loved the graphics. It was very realistic. One of my favorite parts was that in each segment, you were an actual person with a name. The other troops would refer to you throughout the segment by that name. It made it very realistic. The sound was amazing. Hooked up to my surround sound system, it sounded like it was happenning right here in my room! The "free play mode" was not bad at all. You could have up to four players engaging in all of the different settings as any of the different soldiers for games such as "tag", "capture the flag", and "sniper". This is very beneficial so that when you beat the game, you can still use it for something!

CONS:
Typical pricey Xbox 360 game (about $60). I thought (or maybe it was just because I was so involved with it) that the plot could have been longer. I was kind of dissapointed when I saw the credits come up at the end. Other than that, I don't really have anything negative to say about this game.

OVERALL:
Highly recommend it. If you like war games, then you should definately get this game. Multiple difficulty settings means that you can repeat it over and over again at different levels. Definately get this game! (Be careful, there are some foul words that have been allowed in the game). I would recommend this game to players over 13 years of age.

This game is absolutely incredible. At this point in my life, I've been playing video games since the days of Atari and Intellivision. With the advent of every system, I wondered how much better it could get from one to the next...

This new XBOX 360 boasts the most powerful graphics processor - and it shows in Call of Duty 2. Blades of grass move. Sand raises into the air during gunshots. Soldiers will play dead after being shot, only to shoot you with one arm while lying on the floor.

Basically, you get a history lesson along the way. The game takes place from 1941-1944 during WWII. You have options of fighting campaigns as Russia, the U.K. or the United States. Perhaps my most favorite is the infamous D-Day. You actually come onto the shores of Normany and fight the bloodiest of battles.

The controls are easy to get used to. The training mode is decent as well. However, it will take some time to get used to if you are a beginning video gamer.

All-in-All...this surpasses my favorite shooter of all time - Ghost Recon 2 for Xbox. If you are lucky enough to own an Xbox 360, then you better own this game.

they did a great job on the game, graphics and gameplay are phenominal. The only points id deduct is that there is no co-operative play against the computer, only head to head.

This game is one of the most awesome first person shooter games made for the xbox 360! Activision really did it this time in this one. The best graphics and also awesome team play. The one thing I really liked also was the online play! It was kick A** I loved it! Even after I beat the game like 3 times it's the type of game that is hard to put down!

Call of Duty 2 follows the same formula as the first Call of Duty, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. You become a part of the war, so it doesn't feel like you're the main character. The graphics have been updated, and it is now available on the Brand New Xbox 360.

It looks a lot nicer than the PC, but because of the widescreen and constant action, I can only play this for an hour before I get vertigo and want to throw up. I guess I'm getting old, because I don't remember that happening when I was younger.

Then again, this has to be one of the coolest looking FPS on a Console system. The controls aren't perfect because I don't have my mouse and keyboard, but again, best on a console. I'm giving it a 4 for now, but this might change when I play more missions. Initial reaction is great action game to introduce the Xbox 360 to First Person Shooters.

Graphics: 10/10
There really is nothing else to say about the graphics other than ‘wow.' The first time that I shot somebody down my jaw just dropped seeing how realistic that these graphics looked. They truly are spectacular and are what a next generation game should look like. Everything about this game is beautiful. Sometimes I find myself just looking at the gun in front of me admiring how great that it looks. The environments are also very realistic looking and also very diversified. This is probably the best looking console game to date.

Sound: 10/10
This is one of the main reasons that make this game so great. Everything about the sound just screams realism. The guns firing, the grenades going off, people yelling at you in the midst of battle, all of it contributes to this realistic feel of being in the middle of an intense battle. It gives you this feel of actually being there. You can also hear your comrades around you talking to you in battle warning you of things going on. It's refreshing to hear the people around you communicating with you rather than you trying to just fumble around and figuring things out for yourself. I don't think this would be as great a game as it is if not for the awesome sound throughout.

Gameplay: 10/10
The gameplay is the other aspect of this game that sets it apart from your typical WWII shooter. You'll really be hard pressed to find a moment within the gameplay where you aren't fully enthralled in battle. It's the most intense experience that you'll ever have in any game, let alone in any WWII shooter. You have the option of choosing to partake in three different scenarios, which follow all three of the allied powers. Of course, the enemy will be the same whichever one you choose, but the mission objectives are highly diversified which makes this game so fun. It seems like you're always doing something new as opposed to the usual run and gun type situation in every other shooter. The missions themselves also give you a sense that you've actually accomplished something. You can look back after you've completed the mission and think, ‘man, how did I ever survive that?' But speaking of running and gunning, it's something that you definitely won't be able to pull off in this game. You're actually going to need to stick with your allies in battle because of the number of enemies that you encounter. Not only that but your enemies are relatively smart and will stick together in order to overcome you, so if you try and turn into Rambo, you're screwed. It's also nice that the game tells you the direction where a grenade has been thrown and flashes off the screen once you're out of range of taking damage from it. It's quite convenient to understand where the grenades are as opposed to previous games where you just walk right into them. The health system works very well as it completely eliminated having to look for medpacs that magically appear in the middle of battle.

Overall: 10/10
I'm not to privy about giving out perfect scores but this is definitely a game that deserves it. There really are no weak points about the game and it offers up so much. If you bought an XBOX 360 and haven't bought this game yet then I have no idea what you're thinking.

This is your chance to fight in a war and feel like you are really there, without getting killed!

I recently purchased Call of Duty after watching someone play it in the department store. I was transfixed by the sheer realism of the game. The look of world war 2 in all its ugliness and its sense of patriotism. The graphics were beyond equal and the game sound puts you right into an abandoned church or a sherman tank. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes first person shooters, and anyone who remembers our greatest threat to freedom.
