The lesson of Caligula is that men who have power and have not their desires and passion in check and who rage with wanton cruelties of the inane will always as been the case throughout history suffer the consequences of deposition and death at the hands of the livid. To have something you desire and to take it not from a base of right in that you deserve but rather in that you can, has in its final outcome an element of justice that the existence of man will never shake off in his psyche. So to have another mans wife at their wedding may be your idea of a thrill, however beware the ides of march, etc etc etc in that eventually the price will have to be paid for the human race to continue.
