The California Kid (DVD, 2007)

I saw this when I was in grade school & recall talking with some school mates about it the following day. I was about 9 and had three older brothers who were all into cars so naturally I was destined. The DVD I received was in a lettered box with great viewing quality even on my old Funai DVD player. MovieMars made this selection easy as the price and shipping speed were great. I will definately do business with them in the future.

I ordered a dvd from inflatable madness on oct 1 2008. I paid with paypal. I promptly recieved a thank you email from inflatable madness. One week later i recieved an apology email from inflatable madness blaming eBay for a glich in an ordering program and promising quick shipment. Two weeks later on oct 21 after exchanging two more emails with inflatable madniss i recievrd another email from inflatable madness telling me my payment was being returned to paypal. I recieved an email from paypal confirming the refund the same day. I can get my money returned to me for a charge of $1.50 by paypal. I now am behind $1.50 in cash a LOT of time and effort expended no dvd to show for it and by the way eBay shows me still owing for the item on my account page. Go figure. Perhaps eBay is not for me. I hope you find this review helpful.

A real trip to the past. NO fake computer imaging!!! Just a hot rodder and his battle with the law for justice. Great viewing for those with roots in cars.

The car is the star. Martin Sheen is a worthy co-star as is Vic Morrow and Nick Nolte. Michelle Phillips does fine as well....but the car and the other cars are the meat and potatoes of this flick.
Cool story of a sheriff that went off his rocker when a hit and run driver killed his wife and child. He starts pushing traffic violaters off a cliff with his souped up Cop-rod '57 Plymouth (Christine's clone). All the deputies have 6 year old cars to drive which are also souped to the gills to catch speeders...in the most famous speed trap in the area.
Vic does the dirty dog, as always, to the bone. Running his territory like an evil tyrant.
Sheen shows up and the sheriff's nerves become frazzled...he knows something is going down when Mike won't run away from his town.

For some reason my husband wanted this movie. I watched it with him, and thought it was pretty funny. Nice old car.

The older hot rod cars of the sixties and early seventies,that is the way it was. I should know I was a hot rod fan and still am. Good stuff,fun and the make-up of a get back at ya story.

Terrible....did not receive my DVD and have not received a response from seller. Awful service....Never will by from this seller.... will recommend not buying from this seller unless you enjoy throwing away money.

I remember watching this on TV as a movie of the week or after school special. Vic Morrow played the bad guy sheriff again. Kind of the same character in the Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry Movie. If you have a hot rod movie collection, make sure you add this one to it. A good quality DVD! Enjoyed watching every minute of it.

I have been trying to find this in some format since it was on TV in the 70's.It is a flawless,complete copy !!! EXCELLENT !!!

Good movie brought back memories when I was a kid seeing this on TV.
Classic cars and a little action with chase seens.

Great casting. Basic plot with not alot of dialog. But a great car. Watch for the duct tape on the cop car window and you can tell the side pipes are dummys on the Ford.

For one thing the seller never sent me the movie, major rip-off, he should be booted from ebay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been wanting to see it again for a long time,[saw it a long time ago],so I checked on E-bay and there it was! I got a great deal on it,and plan to watch it again,I liked the old cars and the story line,it was great movie.

The last time I saw this movie I was only a teenager in the late 70's. I saw it advertised on Ebay last month and it brought back memories. If you like old car movies, then this is one you'll just have to have for your collection. Martin Sheen is an older brother out to avenge the death of his younger brother by a corrupt small town sheriff played by Vic Morrow.
This movie does not have stunts that make you think cars can fly 100's of feet and land without a scratch, or crash through a brick wall and still get away from the police.
I would say this movie is every bit as good as movies like- Return to Macon County, Two Lane Blacktop, American Graffiti, etc...

A CLASSIC MOVIE FOR GEAR HEADS. BEAUTIFUL CAR, YOUNG MARTIN SHEEN, A NASTY VIC MORROW, WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT. LOTS OF VINTAGE CARS TO LOOK AT ALSO. IF YOU WANT A GOOD OLD FASHIONED GOOD GUY VRS BAD GUY MOVIE THEN THIS IS IT.

This movie was awesome, I loved martin Sheen in this he was so good. Cause I like the older movies to to see when people go there start. Nick Nolte was also in this one and he was so young looking.He did a fine job also.

Looked for it for years, great movie and great quality thanks well avted great old timer, like me, movie recommend very highly for anyone liking old car movies Martin Sheen was great in it one complaint, didn't last long enough but I guess it was ok, for not getting bored

I have been wanting to see this movie for years, but could not find it anywhere. The quality of the dvd was good. The price was very good.

I loved this flick when I first saw it- as a kid in the 70s. It is set in 1958, and Happy Days was popular. This flick also has a leather jacketed, troubled individual. I grew up to be that troubled outsider. It features actors we still know and admire today- A young Martin Sheen, and Nick Nolte. And what red-blooded kid doesn't like stuff about older kids "makin out"? This flick may've had somethin to do with the beggining of my fascination with California. :)

i had never seen this mavie before,but had heard alot about it. the story is pretty good. maritn sheen takes his time about his retaliation against the small town sheriff that murdered his brother and many other. the car as usual steals the movie as in the title. should see for all hot rodders.

I had been looking for this movie for a very long time, as in almost 20 years or more. There was nothing about it I disliked. It was just like an old west type of movie, where the handsome stranger come's to town gunning for the sheriff, looking to get revenge for the sheriff's killing of his brother. Justice the old west way. Martin Sheen, Vic Morow, and Nick Nolte were great.

I dont know how i missed this one for so long.The car chases are great.Must see for anyone that likes Old Hot Rods.
