Cabela's Big Game Hunter (Xbox 360, 2007)

CONS-1.Not long enough but worth the $39.99

GRAPHICS-They were all pretty good and it's the best looking Cabela game so far. The animals all looked fairly realistic and the environment was great. The water was also a lot better than some of the other Cabela games. At least this time you are allowed to walk through the water and if you shoot into the water it will actually make a splash. Every once in awhile you could see that the wind blew up some dust.

SOUND-The sound effects were all really good. Everyone of the animals had their own sound and they were all realistic. Especially the bugleing of the Elk and a few of the other large deer in New Zealand and Africa. All of the weapons sounded very realistic. During some of the winter scenes you could hear the wind howling which made a good effect to the surrounding area. I liked how each animal acted differently towards you. Some of them would take off but others would charge after you. A few of them with the intentions of killing you.

GAMEPLAY- The controls haven't changed any and they were pretty easy to use. There were a few places where you had to climb a steep bank or balance yourself while walking across a fallen log between two cliffs. In some places you would have to go under or over an obstacle. These all added to the game a lot. The game is pretty realistic and you feel like you are actually out in the wilds hunting. It's a whole lot better than Cabela's Trophy Bucks game which was too arcade like and the animals were too small to see much detail.

Just like the last game, you can choose to go on an Instant Hunt or you can do a Career Hunt that will take you through 6 International hunting hotspots. You will be hunting about 24 different big game trophy animals which could have been a few more but was still okay. There will be several mini-game hunts throughout the main story line that you can go on. These are optional and most of them will be hunting for different fowl, varmints,etc in the game.

There is a fair selection of weapons and items that you will acquire throughout the game and they all look and sound very realistic. The story line is fairly good and you will meet quite a few different people at different locations and each one of them will have a task for you to do. Just like most games nowadays you will be able to go through the main story line in about 8 hours but there is still plenty to do if you want to go through the Instant Hunts where you can choose whatever expedition or location you want.

Overall, I enjoyed the game very much and I think for the price it is well worth it. I highly recommend this game to any hunting fan.
