We were shown this film in my Chinese class. One of our instructors is a film critic in China. I don’t think it was released in the USA. The production is on Par to Hollywood standards. It is very funny, great special effects, not to mention a surprise that was not expected.

CJ7 is a cool tale about a little boy from a poor family tring to fit in with the kids at an elite private school. When his father finds an alien egg in the garbage CJ7 changes both their lives forever. The DVD is functional featuring both english dubbed and original Chinese (mandarin) audio track. I Prefer the Original track with subtiltle because the english dub was a little off. The only problem is not all the special features are subtitled... so learn mandarin to watch those ones.
Over all great movie a tale child and adults will enjoy.

This movie is for kids and Parents/adults. A very good story telling the tale of a hard working father trying to make a better living for his son.
Basiclly if your expecting Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle type movies Please skip it because it will definitly not meet your expectations.

Great Movie
) This version is identical to the u.s. release. I loved the movie, its different,funny,and has a good story. The kids loved it too,as it was purchased for them but I have loved it as well. I would highly recommend buying this movie instead of just renting it. You will enjoy the different take on family entertainment movies.

CJ7 DVD 2008 EXCELLENT FAMILY FUN
) In this age with so much lack of appreciation between parents and their children, CJ7 helps put life in perspective. I highly recommend this film. If you are already a Stephen Chow fan like I am, this movie really hits the spot. Quite a different theme than KUNG FU HUSTLE, CJ7 still carries the Chow flavor. Just make sure when you buy it that it is in the language you speak!! I viewed this via Netflix in English. Sadly, I purchased the Chinese version. I asked about the language and ability to play in my region but did not get a timely reply so I took a chance. Fortunately, I don't mind subtitled movies, but I will have to view it via Netflix if I want to hear it in English again. Any way you choose to view it will be a good experience!
