The Butterfly Effect (2004, VHS)

This movie is probably best summarized as ''Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it.''
This was my first time seeing Ashton in a dramatic role. To be honest, I've avoided as I just couldn't picture the guy who played air-headed Kelso (That 70's Show) & also starred in Dude, Where's My Car? and Just Married as being anything but a comedic actor. To say I was pleasantly surprised is a massive understatement.
With the first 'change' I felt a bit let-down as I felt the characters were void of depth & thought that was 'it'. No, the story was nowhere near being told & I was indeed rewarded with nicely developed characters and storyline as the tale continued.
In the end, I found myself asking which was better, life as the movie began or as it ended. I have my theory, I'll leave you to determine yours after viewing. :o)
