The Butterfly Effect 2 (DVD, 2006, Widescreen Edition)

This is an OK movie by itself, but just a dim shadow of the original.
Where the original has a history of the lead's life from childhood through
adulthood, with memory "gaps" in his childhood, that we only discover later are
filled in by his actions as an adult, and holds a viewer's interest with its
twists ahd turns, this movie covers only a year in the lead's life, and changes
the concept such that there are no gaps to fill in, he simply re-lives prior
experiences, and remembers how it happened before and changes events slightly
to effect a different outcome.
The first movie left off with great potential for a really good sequel,
but this isn't it. Had I watched this movie before buying it, I would not
have bought it. It's very disappointing with regard to the first. But, if
you haven't seen the first one, maybe this one isn't so bad after all.
The first movie can be viewed repeatedly, and be just as good every time,
this one: once you've seen it, you've seen it and no need to revisit it.

Another boring sequel. Not imaginative and definately not worth seeing.
The actors were not endearing and the female lead was downright blah. Please don't make a sequel, it is not worth the investment of some schmuck's money.

As is often the case with motion pictures, the quality and imagination of the sequel Butterfly Effect 2 do not compare to the original Butterfly Effect movie.

I became a Butterfly junkie after watching the original film several times. The twists and turns of the main character, who is able to jump backwards in time to try and prevent hardship and tragedy by changing pivotal events of his life along with those of his close pals, really captivated me. In the original Butterfly Effect, you see the hero and his buddies grow up from the time they are children, and while you want everything to turn out for the better, each "do-over" simply remanifests the inevitable tragedy, often leaving things in worse shape.

In Butterfly Effect 2, we don't get to know the latest main character or his group of pals well enough to care as much about them. We see a smaller snipet of their lives. In addition, the ability of the hero to jump backwards in time is no longer a novelty in the sequel. However, without viewing the original, it may prove be difficult for the audience to fully understand what is going on with these "do-overs".

There are still reasons to watch Butterfly Effect 2. It teaches lessons about what happens to our fallen hero when he embraces the rat-race of life, pursuing money and power before love and companionship. For a Butterfly junkie like me, it was worth watching, but I have to admit I was disappointed that Butterfly Effect 2 was not nearly as good as the original.

There is nothing special about this movie. If you saw the first one, there is no need to watch the 2nd one. And there might be a third one, I think I'll skip that one.

Everything Was Fine No Gliches In The Movie. The Case Was Like new. The Movie Was Exciting, The Movie Its self Had no Scraches. The Mailing Was Great Timing too. I Would Say A nothing not even a little Faster in the mail. i did pay for two shippings and got one package so ok

The Butterfly Effect 2 is probably not worth your hard earned money unless you are a huge fan of the original, and maybe not even then. I purchased this movie for one reason: it stars Erica Durance (who plays Lois Lane on the CW's Smallville), of whom I'm a big fan. She does an awesome job and shows her acting chops. Unfortunately she was the only bright spot in the movie. Co-star Eric Lively struggles in this movie despite a good scene or two. Unless you're a big fan of the original or Erica Durance, I would skip this one.

it was a real twist on the original, could have ended it a little differently. but enjoyed it. the cast was a good cast the effects weren't to far off from the first one.

after seeing the first butterfly effect I thought that I had to see this one also. Truth is after seeing the first one you could probably go without seeing the second, it's pretty much just more of the same. Would not highly recommed this movie, but if you've got time to kill, hey why not.

This movie is not as good as the first one but still enoyable to watch. I purchased this movie to find out if it was as good as the first one.

Not the same as butterfly effect part 1, but that's not always a bad thing. Movie sticks to the basic change ppls future with every nose bleed but has a different light about it. decent movie. must see if you have seen the first

This movie is very original and has some very good parts. Rent this one at least if you haven't already purchased it.

I really like Erica Durance acting abilites. I have enjoyed watching her performances on Smallville (fan). I also enjoyed the first Butterfly Effect. I enjoy Sci. Fi. and time travel. I would recomend any one over 16 to see it. My youngest is 14 and my next one is 16 my youngest daughter. I did not recomend it to them for the sexual content.

THIS DVD KIND OF BECAME A CULT CLASSIC. NEVER REALLY HIT THEATERS. I WAS A HUG FAN OF THE FIRST ONE. I ALSO BOUGHT IT FOR THE ACTRESS ERICA DURANCE WHO PLAYS LOIS LANE ON SMALLVILLE!!

Bought this one to go with the first one, This movie was different from the first one but just as good, well worth watching if you liked the first one . What are you doing reading this !?!?! go bid on you a copy !!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved the 1st butterfly effect movie. So I had to see this one. It was cool and different from the 1st. I hope they make a sequel.
