Top Reviews Review created: 02/24/08 by: 6 of 6 people found this review helpful. Now I know people have said that this Burnout was one of the worst, and I can see why people think that. There are a lot of changes. In my opinion though, these changes made the game more fun, and a longer term game. The previous burnout games had the races at a menu and you just click select and it takes you to the race and that's all there is to the game. In Burnout Paradise there is much more to it. My favorite addition to Paradise was the free roam section. To start a race, you pull up to traffic lights and toll booths to engage in races. I've noticed that there were some people that thought it was pathetic being able to go around town at 100 mph. But isn't that why you bought Burnout?!? When I read a review about this game and saw that there was a free roam, I was expecting it to be like Need For Speed Underground 2. NOT AT ALL. I was very happy to see they did not try to make it like Need For Speed, although it is a very good game. Burnout still keeps its classic feel. The graphics are great, the style of the game is great, but there are a few drawbacks. I have only had this game for a little over a week, but I have not found a way to turn on a speedometer. So you don't really know how fast you are going. The other draw back was when you do a race, it shows you where to go on the map and has a compass but is still very easy to get off track and get lost. If you liked the previous burnout games and like Need for speed, I would highly recommend this game. Even if you didn't like the Need For Speed series, but liked the Burnout series, I would still suggest you buy this game. Report this review Review created: 08/10/08 by: I'd give this game a 5 out of 5 if it had splitscreen play for friends when they drop by. I wanted a casual racer that I could just pick up and play. I didn't want a steep learning curve, and this game fits that description. I wrongly assumed that this game had multiplayer, so I was disappointed when I realized it didn't, but it still has solid single-player fun. I don't care much for racing random people online, and I haven't done that yet, so I can't speak to the Live portion of the game. Review ID: 10000000008305814 Was this review helpful?
