Bryan Kest's Power Yoga (DVD, 2004)

I am very happy with this yoga dvd. I have been doing yoga for about 10 yrs this dvd is a little dated but the the workout is great. I find myself wanting to do this dvd everyday for the great strengthing and stretching routines.

Very tough, I am not an avid Yoga participant but do enjoy it once or twice a week. Felt I was ready to move on to something a little bit more intermediate. It is a very tough workout but also great. I could really feel it when I was finished.

NOT for anyone but those who are seriously young and flexible. You have to also keep your eye on the TV to figure out what the 'class' is doing because he doesn't explain well. It's a POWER yoga for sure - definitely not relaxing. Only for those yoga enthusiastics who are in the best of shape.

I am fairly new to Yoga and am in pretty good shape. But even the beginning level is tough! But it is an excellent workout! Everything is explained fully and the instructor is very calming and does an excellent job. Video and audio are well done and this is an excellent value.

He also explains describes ways you can go easier and does address the needs of beginners, how to modify moves for old injuries and how to avoid injury. He stresses the importance of enjoying the workout and not pushign too hard. Also some great stretching moves that are rather relaxing.

I would strongly recommend this course. All 3 shoud address anyones needs for a long time!

I bought these to upgrade my 3 vhs videos to dvd because I don't have a VCR anymore. I was very happy to find all three workouts in one DVD.

Decent DVD -- I've gotten to the point where I needed to move up a notch in my practice at home. This DVD has helped. Tough workout, but not unattainable. I recommend it very much.

Definitely my favorite power yoga DVD. Challenging for all levels. Kest's manner of teaching is soothing. I have yet to find another workout that satisfies as well.

Volume 1 is great for beginners while 2 & 3 are suited for intermediate level. I'm usually nice/sore the next day after volume 2. Both 2 & 3 make me sweat, get my heartrate up (esp v. 2) and feel great - I love Bryan's no-pressure encouraging attitude; he's a really motivating instructor and enables me to not be frustrated when I can't get to where I'd like to be in the poses.

I ordered this for my brother and already own a copy. Kest's workout is solid. You feel the benefits as you progress through the very first workout. Flexibility grows and strength increases. It's a fantastic workout. I love it. You sweat and get immediate benefits. However those benefits keep coming -- I've had the dvd for about two years and grow stronger/more flexible each time I use it. I highly recommend everyone tries this great dvd.

My wife wanted it, I bought it for her. I could care less about Bryan Kest's Power Yoga!

As for my feelings on ebay in general, it used to be you could get a good deal on ebay. Now that it has become just another venue for retailers to market their products, I might as well go to the store and buy it so I have it as soon as I pay my money for it, wont have to wait a week for it to arrive, and wont have to worry about weather or not the seller is reputable enough to send me the product I purchased, and by going to the store, the shipping cost gets absorbed into the price, so its really not a better plan to buy on ebay for the most part.

I scour ebay for what interests me, and when it comes time to bid, I usually get into bidding wars with people and the end result is someone winds up paying pennies less than retail, and then has to pay shipping, however, once in a GREAT WHILE... like once a year, I find something I like for a bargain price.

In short, Ebay allows you to shop in your underwear from home, picking your nose and scratching your ass, and the price you pay for that privilage is having to wait a week to get what you bought and the worry of if it will actually be sent or be an accurate representation of what you thought you were getting.

I've read many criticisms and praises of the many reviews on amazon.com.
I can understand people's likes and dislikes. I think any yoga dvd is judged by two standards; the character/personality or teaching style of the yoga teacher and what he/she is actually teaching. Bryan Kest's is a genuine yoga master or at least a high level expert. He is insightful, caring, and very intelligent and performs ashtanga yoga excellently. I know some people are annoyed that he speaks so much throughout the dvds while the students are practicing but I think everything he says is necessary in being guided on teh right path doing yoga at the highest level possible without over complicated explanation. These 3 dvds are entertaining to watch because all the students are excellent and in very good shape yet not all are on the same level. For example, there are some beautiful thin women and some tall and average height men that are buff but not so flexible and some are thinner. These 3 dvds are all I will ever need to practice yoga. I'm not looking for the religious side of yoga because I'm already a "universal" Buddhist, and I don't want to be a master yogi. I just want to feel great by being very flexible and strong by using my own bodyweight and being meditative through doing yoga. These dvds are meant to be used while practicing at the same time. Just follow Kest's guidance and copy the moves of his students and you're ready to go. Watch, do, sweat, and do some more.

I found that the workout was pretty good however, more explanations could have been given regarding the exact positioning of your body when doing the moves..It was intense and I felt that I had a good workout after having done the beginner one. The sequence of the moves was great. My only problem was that it was a little cheesy with the music as well as eighties music. His voice could have also been a little clearer. It was muffled at times.

real good work out, power 1,2, and 3 are all great workouts, highly reccomended if you are into yoga this is a good dvd for your collection

Ok dvd for the price. It's nice that you get 3 different sessions on a dvd. The work-outs are good. They got me sweating and moving. And they are pretty advanced. I am not too impressed with Bryan however. Not very personable. He is in good shape, but you can tell the video is really old. He has long curly hair and funky jean shorts on. Totally out of the 80's.

This is one of my favorite power yoga dvds. I like that it has 3 options for work outs and depending on my energy level for that day, I pick one. Bryan is very motovational and does a nice job explaining the poses and I like that he keeps saying there are no perfect poses, just do what you can do.

good workout, if you've never done yoga it will make you sore. Great product if your looking for yoga for novices, but especially great to challenge pro's

Clear and brand new. I wish that the shipping was a bit faster but other than that the video was brand new and met my expectations 100%.

Power Yoga provides a great workout and stretch all in one. I have been using this series for about 8 years now. My first purchase was on Video cassette and the tapes have worn out! An excellent way to keep in shape and rid your body of excess stress.

Been doing this for years and have had amazing results in my body and mind...calmness and a elongated body...both are what I hoped for...

btw, Kest says "come on, Poppe.." (if you read the credits, that's one of the students names)..funny comment!

This DVD was recommended by a friend who is a Yoga instructor. Wonderfully instructive and with 3 levels of intensity, can be customized to your ability. As with the physical, there is also some serious mental encouragement and centering in Bryan Kest's instruction.

I LOVE this DVD. Brian Kest's classes are excellent! He has a very calming, relaxed style yet you still get a great workout. Three classes on one DVD--great deal.

I love the pace, the teacher, and the moves. They have skill levels from easy to hard. I've purchased many yoga dvd before and i hate all of them. I finally found the one I love (this one)based on a friend's recommendation.
