Old but Good.
Bruce Tegner was from Chicago Illinois and started in the martial arts at 2. When he was 17,he stopped teaching and doing competitions to write books about self-defense. His books,in my opinon, are just effective,if not more now,and valuble today,as they were written 30+ years ago. When you study traditional Kung-fu,Karate,ect today, the forms are over 100 years old. They are as effective then,as they are now. I believe, because Mr.Tegner took the "mystery" out of Martial Arts, and left the basic working schematics, without all the mumbo-jumbo,(i.e the power of Ki to K.O a Man with just one touch) and all the mysticism, people became less enchanted. Bruce Tegner will definitely be the first in my book to give us the knowledge and wisdom to not be afraid of change and adaptation in tradition.
