Bruce Almighty (DVD, 2003, Full Frame)

No matter how Hollywood always tries to capitalize on the religious aspects of life, it always seems to either be too much of a lesson, too little of a lesson, or turns out to be not much of a lesson at all. This all should at least, for a short time, makes us at least empathize for the main characters long enough to feel for someone else.

In this movie, we aren't sure whether the character Jim Carrey plays as Bruce deserve much of nothing, which is a novel idea. Give this guy all the power in the universe and see what happens.

If it wasn't so funny, I would have forgotten to laugh. The newscast scene is unforgettable and leads to a sequel Evan Almighty.

You must watch this with a few different people in your family and friend circle to see whether it holds up to the 5/5 excellent. I now give this movie.

Buy it and watch it over and over and don't forget Evan Almighty as well.

Jim Carrey is at his best (again) in this movie! Bruce Almighty is a unique concept for a comedy. Although I believe it might have been loosely based on 'Oh God, You Devil' starring George Burns. Only Jim Carrey could have starred in this role and carried this film. If you liked him in 'Liar, Liar' you will love him in this one. Another great role played in this movie was by the great Morgan Freeman. He plays a great 'God' with his unique authoritative voice. And let's not forget the beautiful Jennifer Aniston! She plays Bruce's girlfriend perfectly. She is tranistioning from the small screen wonderfully. And very pleasing to the eyes. Hilarious movie! I'm not a big Jim Carey fan but this movie is funny. I would characterize it as a romantic comedy. It's nice to see Carey in a funny role and not a stupid comedy role.

I love Jim Carrey and this movie is really funny, it also have a good message about being negative all the time.

This is a great movie and I wanted to have it for our movie collection, I got this movie for a great price and just couldn't pass it up.

I loved that the DVD was found, bought and sent very quick like lightening. The item was also packed and received in good condition. The seller answered any of my questions immediately without pause and was very kind in giving positive feedback.

Jim Carrey does it once again. This to me is like a remake of Oh God, just different actors. Still a good movie. Have always like Morgan Freeman. Very funny. Really enjoyed it.

I got exactly what was promised and it works perfectly. I thought that the DVD was good, so I decided to get it.

I'm not a big fan of Jim Carrey, but this is one of those few comedies he's done that isn't beyond stupid with it's humor. It's cleaner and laugh out loud funnier than most of his other films. I would recommend it to anyone.

A friend from church suggested this feature years ago. I had neglected it until a newer version was released. Now, I was curious about -both. Interesting to see Carey doing something "a little" different. I enjoyed it. Now, I'm ready for the second one...

I love everything about this movie.It is shown in a happy way how God can use a person. Its a great story and its so funny when you ask for god's powers and then you learn that sometimes you should be careful for what you ask for , and finally he does learn what in life is good!!!I watch it over and over again ,and of course who could do this story any better than Jim Carry ? nobody. I would tell everyone to pick a copy up,and enjoy.!!

I was worried about the movie going over the line but delightfully, it did not. It made me wonder what I would do in this situation. Would I right a few wrong's in my life first and have to be reminded about everyone else needing their prayer's answered? Would you? Great movie, makes you think. Not only is Jim Carrey at his funnist, but Steve Carell give's a hilarious performance as Evan Baxter his rival for the new's anchor position. If you've had a bad day and just need a good laugh, you can't go wrong with Bruce Almighty.

I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY SON FOR CHRISTMAS. DESCENT PRICE. HE REALLY LIKES THIS MOVIE. HE WANTED IT FOR HIS PSP BUT NO LUCK FINDING IT SO I HAD TO SETTLE FOR A DVD INSTEAD.

Since it is Jim Carrey, the movie is quite amusing, and there are definitely some highly entertaining moments in it. The movie is not perfect theology, but for Hollywood, it is definitely a good attempt. Many statements in the film can be quite thought provoking and even challenging, and I applaud Tom Shadyac for his effort in this movie.

So, while far from perfect, definitely an amusing popcorn movie with a little bit of thought behind it.

Bottom Line: 3.5 out of 4 (worth a view or two)

AN AWESOME MOVIE!!! One of Jim Carrey's BEST!! It is definitely on our Top 10 List of Favorite Movies and would never part with it!!

Why we bought it?They played a clip from it at our church and it seemed very interesting, funny, and showed how life can be quite questionable at times.

A GREAT MOVIE if you're having a bad day and need good laughs, and some good energy! We have owned it for over two years, and have watched it probably 100 times!! It gives us the lift we need when we need one!

It shows how your life can get out of hand when trying to balance you "business life" vs your personal life/family life. The business life tends to take over and you find that you end of losing much of what you had(the important things in life).

**ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!!!**

It may touch very close to home for many of you! It did us!!
