Brother MFC-440CN All-In-One InkJet Printer

The Brother MFC-440CN is an excellent multi-function machine. The many features include: color printer, color copier, color scanner, fax machine and much more!
I have found this machine to be very user-friendly and it produces quality copys time after time. It prints at a fairly fast rate for these types of machines with up to 25 pages per minute in black ink and 20 pages per minute with color ink.

The only negative thing about this product is that it doesn't come with the usb cord to connect to the computer. I found this to be very inconvenient as you have to purchase it separately in order for the machine to work.

Overall it is a quality multi-function printer/copier that retails for a very affordable price.

I love this printer because it is easy to use, it has all the feature you need. additionally i like it because i was able to use the printer to save pictures from my computer into the memory card. The reason i had to do this was because i was given a picture frame that displays pictures that are saved on the memory card. it saved me from having to buy the adapter to do this task.

This is my second MFC-440CN. It truly does it all. Be careful clearing Paper Jams. The instructions for this process are very clear. Not following them can be an expensive error.

I bought a printer but it was nonfunctional and there was absolutely zero problem with correcting the shipment. In fact they just returned the full amound & told me to discard the bad unit. I will buy from them again.

Love: USB & Ethernet, compact, refillable ink, independent photo & file printing including USB memory stick. Easy to read screen. Would have liked WiFi.

Hate: Cartridges cost more than printer! Cartridge insert & remove is a lot harder than MFC420CN, and designed to make refill harder. Cynical engineering that is not customer friendly.

However: Because the cartridges do NOT contain error-prone electrical contacts, which are manipulated by HP & others to ASSURE you can't reuse them (why I'll never own another HP), they are at least cost effective. Look at the cartridge wall at Staples to see how stupid, and expensive, it has become.

A mighty tool in a small package ~ increases my abilities to be a merchandiser and a shopper with scanning, faxing and printing capabilities! Was well worth the $$s and is paying for itself with my earnings! Haven't YET tried uploading pictures from cell/camera ~ but has those options also! Just don't ask it to make coffee!! ;-P

Replaced another All-in-One

This is a great basic printer for the $. It has good quality prints and copies and never seems to have paper jams. Its a little slow at around 2 ppm standard quality. The best feature however is that aftermarket ink costs as little as $1.50 per cartdidge buying bulk on ebay and works perfectly. If you want average quality and dont need speed this printer is CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP to operate.

I priced the identical printer on Amazon.com and selected the same printer on EBAY for a fraction of the price. A brand new printer at a savings of $100 is unbelieveable. I am a most satisfied customer.

I have this item at home, bought this one for my brother and his wife. I have had mine for over a year and I haven't had any issues with it. I love the fact that the ink cartridges are individual and that you don't have to replace all of them at one time.

Bought one for my Dad its great small compact truly a multi function set up quality prints affordable ink refills, no jams, easy to use controls, this is the best set up I have ever used, highly recomended.

It's an upgrade from the Brother MFC 210C! Has better features and is constructed differently! The ink tray is in the front instead of lifting up the cover and placing the inks upright in some cases the ink would run out; the scanning capability is easier that you can copy pages from a book without any difficulty. I don't know about the hoses being jammed or clogged, but that was an issue with the 210C. The paper tray is designed differently; can print out envelopes if you have a pc; if you have a digital camera, you can put your memory card in the slot and see you picture on the photo capture screen, like watching a small tv on your printer. It has the capability to print up to 99 copies by placing the original on top of the machine and it feeds through the machine and you get the original just as fast. It's heavier than the 210C.
It would be a welcome for any office or home in need of a 6 in 1 MFC machine.

I bought 3 of these because we needed them; my mom's bit the dust and it was a MFC 210C, my fiance's also bit the dust MFC 210C and I am still using mine, but once the ink is used up on the MFC 210C, I will be opening my box and setting the MFC 440CN in my office.

The strange thing about this machine, it says in the owners manual that it doesn't support Windows Vista, and my mom received a CD-ROM saying that it supports Vista. Interesting isn't it! My fiance's MFC 440CN didn't come with a
CD-ROM for Vista. Mine, isn't opened, so I just don't know. We liberated my mom's CD ROM with Vista because she doesn't own a pc, she's using her machine just to make copies.

We all will enjoy these machines! Currently, I won't purchase anything but Brother MFC machines! I strongly recommend these products and if you haven't tried a Brother MFC, give them a try they are worth their money and reputation!
Start out with a MFC 440CN and you'll never go to another machine or better yet, another company like Brother! They are easy to use, their inks are expensive, unless you go to a generic or compatible cartridge or company. Enjoy!

Just what I expected. A great printer for a fair price. Use it at home - a bit slow but for the price it is great.

I have owned several home printers, but never had one like this. The multi-copy feeder is the nearest thing to professional that I've seen since retiring.
The documents and Photos look professional. It is fast, quiet and economical.
I have printed over 100 documents, as well as several pictures and have not changed a single ink cartridge, and still get excellent professional grade printing. Also it is very easy to use.
