Brother CS6000i Computerized Sewing Machine

I just purchased this machine about a month ago. I just LOVE it! Now, I am not an easy person to impress (having worked at a sewing dealership as an instructor and demonstrator) but his little machine has really blown me away - VERY light weight so taking it to classes is so much easier, lots of decorative stitches so I don't feel like I'm having to "settle" when I use it, plenty of feet for most people (although I admit to having more to add to them), quiet enough to not be obnoxious when using in company, and even a table extension for when doing larger (quilts...) items. All in all, an excellent machine - and the price was right!

My nephew recommended this machine for me. He bought one a year ago. The things I like about it are: it is lightweight, unlike my 32 year old one. I like the button you push to lift and lower the needle. I also like that you can use the foot pedal, or use your hand button to run the machine. The large removable table is great too. The bobbin winds evenly, and I don't have to touch the flywheel to get it going. I really enjoy having all the different stitches so easily available at the touch of a button. This is an easy machine to work with.
Things I don't like: I cannot get the needle threader figured out. The instructions for that part are not clear to me, and have frustrated me more than once.
I also don't like having the extra parts in the little bag tucked in the removable part of the machine base. It is inconvenient to get to and hard to get them all packed in just right, so they will fit.
Overall, I am very happy with my Brother sewing machine.

I bought this machine because it was light weight and good to take to classes. I like it very much. I had problem with the tension at first but the customer service answered immediately and the problem was quickly resolved. For me, it's the perfect machine for classes. I can also use it when I am using my other machines for embroidery. The extension table is great for quilts. I like the lcd screen and it has a nice selection of decorative stitches. It's a very user friendly sewing machine. I'm used to high end machines but this would be good for a beginner to the advanced sewist who needs another machine.
The only thing I don't like is that is a little loud. It's probably not fair to compare it to my other machines because they are high end and very quiet. This should not stop you from buying it.

My daughter loves to make quilts as presents for her friends, she uses my wifes sewing machine that she got as a wedding present 23 years ago... needless to say sewing machines have come a long way. She love its.

Exactly what we were looking for. Being a beginnner in the sewing world and not sure how much it would be used, I didn't need a high priced machine. It is easy to operate, understand and well priced. Very satisfied!

Very good machine for the cost & weight. Liter than most. Good accessories. User is happy, bought it for someone else.

Based on excellent reviews, I bought this for my 14-year-old daughter, who loves sewing after taking several classes in middle school. It was an investment, but I decided it would pay out over the years in terms of productive spare time and money saved on clothes. She has used it only a few weeks, but this is our assessment so far:
PROS:
- Lightweight and portable; also easy to store
- Easy to understand (she figured it out all by herself with no adult help)
- Huge variety of stitching options
- Quality stitching
CONS:
- The needle has broken once, and the fabric has become clogged several times. I did read in several reviews that this can happen based on the quality of the thread and weight of the fabric, so I was prepared to have these inconveniences as a trade-off for the price and other benefits.

I love the stitch choices on this machine. It's lightweight to move around the house yet strong enough to sew difference fabrics. So far I haven't found anything that I dislike. This is the first computerized machine I've ever used so it took me a bit to familiarize myself with it. I just sat down at the machine with the user guide and some scrap fabric to practice. I bought it because I felt it was a good machine for the cost. It had all the features I want for my current projects and some features for projects I would like to start. Would definately recommend this machine!

It is light and easy to operate. The cost was reasonal. The bonus items helped too. I love my machince. I used it everyday and next to it is my Futura CE-200 embroiderying. So I can get two items done at the same time

HAD A BROTHER MACHINE FOR OVER 30 YEARS, HAD PROBLEMS WITH FOR 25. BUT THIS MACHINE IS A DREAM TO USE, SEWS PERFECTLY, SO QUIET. ALSO, IT ONLY WEIGHS ABOUT 10 POUNDS, I CAN MOVE IT AROUND BY MYSELF. THE OLD MACHINE WAS IN A CABINET, AND WEIGHED ABOUT 100 POUNDS. ONLY THING I'M CONCERNED ABOUT,THIS NEW MACHINE IS ALL PLASTIC,EVEN THE BOBBIN.HOPE IT HOLDS UP WELL. ONLY TIME WILL TELL.

Machine is lightweight, portable and easy to use. Great for everyday mending and for arts and crafts. Have not yet used the quilting feature but am excited to start. Has all parts needed for quilting.

i havent used a sewing machine in 19years so i had completely forgotten how to use one. i read the manual and did some test stitching on the machine. within an hour i was back to my previous level of sewing expertise! i love this machine!

This machine was bought as a gift for my daughter in law, she says it's wonderful! Easy to use, as long as you read the directions that come with it. All of the attachments are incredibly useful-she said it's perfect!

I purchased this item as a gift for my daughter who is attending college majoring in Fashion Marketing. She had requested a machine for the upcoming semester. Her peers had recommended a unit with these features. I am unable to report any fruther findings at this time.

This machine was SO easy to use and lightweight. Being a novice sewer it was a delight to have such an easy to read instruction book to go along with it.
