The writing style pulls you in and creates a second reality in which to live. The author paints a detailed picture of the lives of the characters and takes readers along for the ride. This book kept me emotionally attached from beginning to end and sent me through a range of emotions. Read this if you are looking for a love story that is timeless and unable to be put down.

I decided to buy this book because it seemed like it would be an interesting and romantic story. I also saw that it was a trilogy and that interested me. If I liked the first book, "The Bronz Horseman", that I would buy the other two books. I loved "The Bronz Horseman" and am now on the second book, "Tatiana and Alexander". The author, Paullina Simons, was born in Leningrad where a lot of the story takes place. The war torn region of Soviet Russia and the romance of Tatiana and Alexander came to life as well as the struggles and hardships that befell all the people in Russia during World War II. The only difficult part was getting through the Russian names of a lot of the people, cities and places in Russia and surrounding areas. I would recomment this author and trilogy books.

  Best book ever!!
Review created: 07/05/06

A friend recommended this book to me and I'm sooo glad she did. It is by far the best love story I've ever read, and even better--it's the first book in a trilogy. I can't say enough about this book or its author, you'll just have to read it and see for yourself!
