Bronica SQ-A Film Camera

I am a professional commercial photographer and have shot extensively with both Bronica and Hasselblad for many years and in my opinion Bronica is a much superior camera. I have shot side by side with both cameras at the same subject and the Bronica optics are every bit as sharp. Not only that, but the lens shutter is electronically controlled by the camera body, making the shutter speed consistently the same from lens to lens. Hasselblad has a goofy double baffle system that will eclipse shutter speeds of 1/8 of a second or slower. The internal body baffle closes before the lens shutter has finished cutting the exposure prematurely short. It’s poor engineering for such an expensive camera. Not only that, but if you take a lens or film back off at the wrong time you can jam the camera. And what about the cheap little plastic flash sync lock that always breaks and takes months to have fixed. I could go on and on about HASSEL-blads. Bronica has none of these problems. The camera system is less expensive, better engeneered for real world shooting, cheaper to have fixed and more durable by far than Hasselblad. It’s unfortunate that so many photographers are such sheep and have always purchased Hasselbald just because everyone else has one. Bronica has been the better camera.
