Most of all, a wonderfully developed story-line brought to life by outstanding acting through dramatic interplay of Christian ideals, nobility and lowliness. A morality that transcend culture, geography and time. One of the best independent films to come along in some time. Robert Duvall and Eric Christin-Church are especially well casted for their roles. This is a 5 stars movie.

This is about 2 cowboys rangling up mustangs to make extra $$$ when they are introduced to the sleaze of the old west. This sleaze has just bought some asian immigrants to be sold as prostitutes. The cowboys save the day more ways than one. And I always love it when the movie is based on actual events. It gives the run down at the end of the movie.

I saw Broken Trail on tv one night with my boyfriend and decided to buy it. Trust me, it's that good. Even my father loved it.

This was a disaster. To date after contacting seller four times, being assured by seller she would mail purchase out and last communication same as before, I finally asked for my money back. Have not received that either. Ebay was no help. I filed a dispute, however because the purchase was below $25 dollar limit I can not get restitution from them either. So I am out the money and the article.

I love the fact that it was based on a true story, I kept waiting for it to come on tv when I was not at work, so I ordered it through Ebay. My late husband would have loved it too.

Robert Duvall is superb as always with Thomas Haden Church giving an excellent performance as well. If you like westerns this is a must have!!!!

I love this movie so much that I have worn it out so I had to purchase another one from Ebay. When I like a movie such as this, I can watch it over and over again. I have had the best experience when purchasing from Ebay.

This is a western in the truest sense of the word. The story is timeless, similar to those written by Louis L'Amour. There is real evil, true heroes, lots of good horses, and a beautiful woman. The acting is natural and believable. The language is a bit rough, but the profanity is not constant. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. I'm now on my second copy of the DVD and have recommended it to everyone who will listen. It's a movie to be watched again and again. I would not recommend this for little children, but it's suitable for those in their early teens.

I didn't think that I liked cowboy movies. Sure some of the old John Wayne hits like McClintock, War Wagon or North to Alaska, but I really hadn't given modern westerns a thought. I happened to catch a few minutes of Broken Trail on broadcast TV and being a Costner fan and being somewhat in love with Benning, I thought I'd buy the DVD. Boy, am I glad I did. I play this disk daily, mostly in the background when I'm working, but intently watching once a week. Gritty, yet a love story. Frontier violence at the point of a gun and yet there's awkward shyness of true love. Plus thar's a whole lot of cowboy wisdom to be gleaned from the film. I'll be watching it for a long time to come.

You just cant find good movies anymore, especially westerns.My friend was watching this movie,that was on the old movie channel.this movie is hardly ever, ever on.anyway we were watching it and I wa starving so he quite watching it in the middle to take me to lunch. He was thinking it would be on again that weekend and wasnt. so I bought it for him..

I am completely thrilled with the my copy, I loved it when I firstt saw it on AMC, and loved the fact that some scenes were added to enhance the movie, that had to be deleted from the television version.

The movie was well done and had an excellent cast with a great script.I enjoy a well done movie that has very little or no profanity in it. This was such a movie.

I like just about any Western. I decided to buy this movie after renting it from Netflix. My wife and I both enjoyed it. There is a lot of action and suspense, just the right amount of gunplay, and that great ubiquitous theme of "the good guys always win." It is a movie I will watch numerous times, as I think it does not spoil anything by knowing what will happen next.

As usual, Robert Duvall makes the movie all that much better. He is his usual laid back self, filled with homespun wisdom and a strong sense of right and wrong and frontier justice.

I saw this movie on TV and loved it so much I had to have a copy. Anyone who loves westerns will enjoy this film.

This movie captures the flavor of the old western classics. The acting is superb, the plot is great and the dialog is easy to follow. The scenery and associated props were meticulously adhered to in every detail. All true western fans will appreciate this movie addition to their library.

We had far too many interruptions while watching this movie on TV, and I knew my husband loved it, so I just went to e-bay and bought it for him. Now we can watch it at our convenience. EXCELLENT movie.

Good movie in the spirit og Lonsome Dove and Open Range, Thomas H. Church is great and Robert Duvall is as always good!

WONDERFUL DVD LOVE LOVE IT AND ANY OHTHER MOVIE THAT ROVERT DUVALL STARS IN. IT WAS A GOOD PRICE SO I BOUGHT IT.

I watched this movie with an agenda at first, My best Friends Horse was in this Film and I was actually looking for him. then I forgot about him because the movie is so good and I became enthralled in the story. not to mention I love Robert Duvall as a cowboy, so i had to go back and watch it again looking for that big Grulla/Buckskin quarter horse of hers : ) and It is a movie you can watch over and over. If you like Lonesome Dove you will like this, and it was hard finding her horse because there were alot of really big grullas and buckskins... lol

Seen on TV but is too long on that format with commercials. Wife wanted for Christmas so she could see the entire movie. Spectacular footage in the western ranges. Long story that seems to pass by quickly. Thomas Haden Church is a diamond in the rough that no one notices but would be my first choice for any cowboy movie. Remember his small part in Tombstone.

Duval is of course, Duval. This is a continuation of the Lonesome Dove saga and his presence continues.

Recommend purchasing Open Range with Kevin Costner if you like Duval.

I watched this movie when it was first shown on TV. I think that this is one of the most excellent western type movie that has been made in the past few years. I only hope they keep making more movies of this caliber.

If you like Robert Duvall in Lonesome Dove, you will love Broken Trail. You just can't beat a good western movie. Good for the whole family to watch together.

This is such a great story of real men (cowboys) with great courage and heart. One of the best Western epics ever. Also it is easier to purchase online than to run all over trying to find it.
