Bringing Up Boys by James Dobson (2005, Paperback)

I decided to buy Bringing Up Boys after hearing some of Dr. Dobson's radio programs and dealing with some of my son's troubling behavior. After reading the book, I realized that his behavior was not unusual for a boy, it was just unusual from a girl's perspective!

Dr. Dobson's writing style is very attention grabbing from the moment the first page is read. I laughed outloud at some of the real-life "little boy stories" that he relayed. This book gave me understanding of the male mind and soul and how our current culture is trying to twist the male persona into something it was never intended to be....female.

Overall, this book is great and I highly recommend it to anyone with boys. However, I was a little disappointed that most of the content was very general and philosophical and did not include concrete methodologies. I guess maybe I was looking for an owner's manual!!!:)

This book will OPEN YOUR EYES to the wonderful world of Boys! NOTHING like Girls! He will help you understand that you are NOT ALONE and you will be amazed at with the way Mr. Dobson KNOWS what you are going through. I HIGHLY recommend this book for ALL PARENTS with sons! AND this would make a LOVELY gift for the NEW PARENTS to be able to learn while they are small the BEST and smartest way to RAISE A BOY! EXCELLENT BOOK! Mr Dobson will point out the TRUTH that Boys WILL Be Boys and the story that goes with that saying! There is MUCH MORE to it!

A very real perspective of raising a boy in these days. Good resource and biblical point of view on boy, and how to raise one. It has many warnings and facts that not known to many people.
