A classic CD from a classic artist
How did I miss this CD when it first came out? It wasn't 80s techno-pop and wasn't early-90s grunge. Just a great album by a great singer-songwriter coming into his prime. There are so many great songs on this album: "Memphis" is a rocking, down-home groove, "Thing Called Love" was a huge hit for Bonnie Raitt and is a treat to hear as its writer performs, "Little Faith" is a soulful, stripped down ballad right from the heart and my current fav "Your Dad Did", which has another great groove and great lyrics. This is the sort of album that makes you want to search out others he's done. I saw him perform live this summer and found him to be an honest musician who puts alot of effort into his music. That's a rare thing these days. As a longtime lover of all kinds of music, I'm happy to have come across Mr. Hiatt and will be adding his CD to my collection.
