Bridget Jones' Diary (DVD, 2001)

I really enjoyed this movie---two minutes into it I had almost decided I wasn't going to like it at all, but another five minutes in and I was hooked. The men in this (even the wicked ones) are delightful to watch and the ending is inspired. If they hadn't felt the need to throw in a totally unnecessary sidenote character who uses the F word incessantly just for the sake of using it (Bridget even says so in a diary entry when introducing the character) it would have been just about a perfect movie. Be sure to watch for a scene that is destined to become a classic---Colin Firth and Hugh Grant going to blows in the street. Even if you don't like "chick flicks" or romances, it's worth watching the entire movie just for that one scene! Overall I give this movie an A. It will put a smile on your face, guaranteed.

I saw this on TV one night and thought it was a good, funny,somewhat true for all movie you could see again and again and enjoy. So I started looking for it in DVD.

Almost as good as the book, this movie is classic. Hilariously funny, inspiration to all Singletons and more evidence of why Colin Firth is the epitome of male perfection! I highly recommend it with a box of chocolates and/or an alcoholic beverage!

I love this movie. This is a new twist to the thirty-somethings romantic comedy. All the characters have a great onscreen chemistry and it is well cast.
Sharp witty humor and physical comedy is great. It is a chick flick guys LOVE. If you can't stand the "F" word you might want to skip this pic. And the sequel is just as good! I bought it because it is a movie I can watch over and over.

This move is both heartwarming and hilarious. Renee Zellweger makes the perfect Bridget Jones opposite the incredibly charming Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. This movie is an accurate portrayal of the woes of the single woman and realistically depicts human emotion.

I believe the dvd disc is in great condition and it came very quickly! I had an empty case so being able to buy just the dvd was very convenient for me. I love this movie and appreciate the sale!!!!

I love this adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. This is a modern take of what and how women really would behave in all circumstances! I LOVED IT!!!

Great Fun!! Love the struggle of this amazing girl who does amazing things to get a mans attention. But is always the right type of attention she wants? That is why this movie is amazing, fresh, and so funny. Renee is and totally encompasses her charter & gives us a real girl to fall in love with and cheer on for her quest.
Hugh was a perfect choice for his charter... Very believable and very funny.
Must have & See Over & over again!

Totally written to appeal to middle aged women, and hits the target completely, aside from the raunchiness and horrendous language. Still, it's the funniest movie I ever saw, really!

This movie is easy to relate to because most women have a little bit of "Bridget" in them. You will laugh, cry, get mad, laugh, and cry again. I guarantee it!! Bridget is somewhat overweight compared to the standards in England and she has the hardest time finding the "right man". She hooks up with this dog Daniel Cleaver when we all want her with Mark Darcy. I think we all want a "Mark Darcy" in our lives when in fact most of us have a "Daniel Cleaver." If you are a sap when it comes to romantic comedies this movie is for you and with an exceptional cast and you really feel like you are right there with rhem. 10+ stars on the rating scale. You should also check out part 2, Bridget Jones's Diary Edge of Reason.

I love this movie! Reneé is terrific and believable in a great story line. Hugh is not hard to watch either, though he does play a "cad" better than most. MUCH BETTER than the sequel - which, thank heavens, I saw on a plane and therefore didn't have to pay any money to watch!

What can I say, I LOVE Bridget Jones!! It's good to see such a fun loving character, that NOT a size 2!! The Bridget Jones Movies are great and sooo funny!!

I bought this movie on Ebay because I enjoy all of the actors and wanted to add to my collection. Brideget Jones is a funny and honest look at being single and finding love in your 30's. The cast is fabulous and the story can be applied to any of us, no matter where we live in the world, or what our age is. The soundtrack is also fantastic. If you want a good laugh and to feel a little romance, then this movie is for you.
Also, catch the sequel, it is almost as good as the first...which doesn't happen very often.

This was a delightful film featuring a lovable character you just want more of. The interaction between players in the movie is hysterical and the jist of the story worth watching.. Fight scene especially humerous.
