  Not a Feel Good Movie!!

I will be forever moved by this movie!! Here I am a grown man fighting back tears in front of my 11 year old son, even having to turn away from him several times, barely able to handle the emotion this movie delivers. Coming from a horror flick fan that phases out the kiddie movies, this one captured my interest and never let go. I found myself captured by the real life hardships of being a kid in school, many of which brought me back to my school days. Whether you were the Bully or the Bullied, whether you were the new kid or one that wasn't able to go to school with the latest fads, this movie will force you to ponder your school days and add a special ingredient of that one special friend you could escape life's hardships with and move into a world of fantasy. Imagine how absolutely horrible it would be to have that world ripped away! The Boy took that pain and turned it into something good by reaching out and making someone else feel special! To label this as one of them feel good movies for kids would be grossly inaccurate as there is little "feel good" qualities about it with the exception of two kids with the need to escape from their own realities finding each other...but even that doesn't last long. Imagine having a million bucks then losing it overnight... I recommend this one to the young and the old, to parents, to classrooms, to everyone!! One other movie that had somewhat of a similar but lesser affect with me was "Pay it Forward" and then there was E.T.

this movie was more about bulling than anything, the clips you see in the preveiw are the only good spots in the movie they dont go to terabithia, they just think the things. I thought it would have more things like in the lion, the witch and the wardrobe but it was nothing like that, I would not pay to see this movie nor would I buy the dvd, I didnt find it a very enjoyable movie at all.

I thought this was very well put together. It was magical, mystical, and I could feel myself getting so absorbed in the movie I shut everything else out and even felt like I was one of the characters. It also addressed a very tragic situation in a manner fit for a child. I liked this so well I purchased it for my grandson. Excellent movie - Two Thumbs up!

  let your imagination run wild!

This movie was a true gem! I bought it on a whim, and was more than pleased with my selection. It took me back on a personal level. I grew up in a home surround by woods and the adventures my sister and I had when we were younger in our tiny little woodland area! LOL It was pure joy to watch these young characters find solitude and importance in a world created solely by their own imagination! My children (ages 8-16) as well as myself, were honestly moved by the many different things that happened throughout this film! Laughter, tears, joy...so easy to relate to much of what you watched because of your own personal experiences as a child. One thing my 10 year old said after the movie, "let's go outside and play terabithia". That's right, put away the video games, click off the Ipods and hit that imagination highway! Highly recommend for great family viewing.

The movie does justice to the book
Review created: 11/13/07

Seldom does a movie measure up to the book that it is derived from, but this release of Bridge to Terabithia was a real winner. I am a reading teacher, and very fond of the book and a great fan of the author. Katherine Patterson and her son were involved in the production of the movie and that is obvious in the outcome. The book touches on so many topics from the obvious - death of a child, to belief in God, dealing with the stresses of childhood, the beauty of imagination, family support, overcoming and forgiveness. The movie does a good job creating the imaginary world of Terabithia. The book leaves most of the creation of the imaginary world to the mind of the reader, but the movie does an amazing job putting pictures to imagination. Hutcherson and Robb are well cast and talented young people. This movie gives glory to a classic book.

A Good Movie For The Whole Family

I bought this heart warming movie along with the book for my son who had the movie recorded on DVR. It got erased and he was very upset. The movie arrived today and I sat down and watched it with him. The imagination of children are brought to life for these 2 (Jess and Leslie) who befriend each other. They spend all their free time together. A tragedy occurs that will make just about anyone cry. So watch it with a few tissues.

  EXCELLENT MOVIE...READ THIS REVIEW!
Review created: 11/20/08

This movie will be loved by all ages and will only be rated low by those who do not understand it. This movie deals with many childhood and adult issues such as peer pressure, family, loyalty, loss, imagination, life, and so much more. To really take in all this movie has to offer, you yourself have to be open-minded. So many have forgotten about imagination and what life is about. Children today are given less outlets to use their imagination due to all the toys and inventions they now have to choose from. Many children now turn to anger, unable to cope with what life brings them. It is special when a child can go beyond this and make the most out of "their" world. My Grandfather used to encourage us (and join in!)to use our imaginations and our world became very special, so much so that some people around us who did not understand could not fathom how we smiled so much! Most wallowed in their misery with complaints never ending; we enjoyed life and made wonderful childhood memories. And absolutely we knew where real life began and ended. If you are open-minded, you will understand and very much enjoy this movie. This movie has much to teach us about ourselves.

I liked the premise but the ending was not what I expected. Interesting concept but the real life part was the much less interesting. It seemed like there was too much going on and not enough to tie everything together.

  Good lesson using imagination
Review created: 10/02/08

I expected more animation, I really didn't know what the movie was about, so I judged it by the previews and pictures. I would hope that the kids today would grasp onto the movies' meaning, not sure. Children with imagination of this kind is not easy to find. We can learn from this movie, we give our kids too much to play with. They don';t know how to make up their playtime. Would be good for kids from that standpoint. It's sad when the little girl dies

It was an okay movie. I thought it was going to be different. Very sad with the girl dying. I bought it because I hadn't seen it and it looked like it may have been interesting. I now wish I had rented it instead of buying.

Those of you who fantasize about make-believe lands need to buy this Movie. It was a little difficult for my 7 year old to understand, but it was great movie for my wife and I. This is a different experience from the other movies of this genre (The Chronicles of Narnia, etc.). However, We really recommend this movie for the entire family. 4 STARS!!!!

This was one slow, sad, depressing movie. The Previews lead you to believe this is a wonderful fantasy film filled with special affects. NOT!
It is slow depressing with few special affects and those are nothing special .

  TERABITHIA

One of the best movies I've ever watched with my grandaughter. However, no one & nothing prepared me for heartbreaking ending. I cried as if I were at my own child's funeral. Little AnnaSophia Robb is a jewel!!! Can't wait to see her in more movies. If you watch the dvd to the end you will be treated by her music video; she can sing, too!!!!!!

What a wonderful FAMILY movie -

This was such an enjoyable movie. The characters kept a smile on your face and anticipation in your eye. Have to use the pause feature because every detail was worth watching. You could sit and watch this with a 8 year old as well as your 80 year old grandmother and both would want to watch it again. They could not have picked a better team to portray these individuals. Let your imaginations run wild in the forest of Terabithia. Dreams and reality become one of the same. Enjoyed and have watched 7-times with other members of the family, enjoyed each time.
