Trower rocks
Robin Trower was often considered a Jimi Hendrix copycat, but if you listen to what he's doing, the sound is similar, the licks aren't. He's not the guitarist that Hendrix was, but the combination of his "more than adequate" technical skill, his sense of effect, and Dewar's voice gives a really terrific, if somewhat dated at this point, sense of energy and excitement. He's not perfect, and some of his solos lose a bit of coherency, but most of the songs on this album are a thrill for those of us of a "certain age" that remember how powerful this music was when it first came out. If you're in your middle ages or someone who appreciates a unique period of music, you should enjoy this one. Unless, of course, you're a big Four Seasons fan :^)
