Just as I like about The Jake The Snake documentary. I love how WWE is remembering people in the business a doing it in such a respectful manner.

This is no different. From his childhood, learning from the dungeon in Canada. From Classics footage from Wcw and the early Years of Raw. This had me going it was too Bad we lost. Who was Brian Pulliam what would wrestling be like today with him still around.

Austin is all over this Film because He was 1 of Pillman's closest friends as they came up together as The Hollywood Blondes in WCW. With Great Classic footage from the begining. If you don't have 1 get it I strongly recommended it. Yes I'm keeping my copy and not auctioning it. I'm more of a vshoot interviews & documentary fan in wrestling then Pay-per-views that i do Auction. Because I want to see a match in particular. Then iI auction off to you to enjoy.

get 1 you will love it,
Onemixer

I always liked Brian Pillman, his intensity, insanity, raspy voice, high-flying style, rough & tough look & attitude. I was sad to hear of his death many years ago. I've been waiting for the WWE to put out a DVD about him, and they thankfully did. It's a wonderful journey through his entire life, not just his wrestling career. The discs are filled with footage, over 6 hours! Alot of stuff I have never seen, and I've been a HUGE fan of wrestling since early childhood. I really enjoyed seeing his stuff from ECW and him lashing out at WCW on WCW LIVE TV! WOW! I was blown away by the footage that was new to me, and loved seeing the stuff I saw years ago. Do yourself a favor and check this one out, for the memory of Brian Pillman. RIP Brian.

A Look Into The Man Who Was "The Loose Cannon"
Review created: 09/29/06

Whether you liked Pillman, hated him or didn't even get to see him before his untimely passing, you should be checking out this DVD collection in his honor. This two disc set features a biography on the man who became known as The Loose Cannon in professional wrestling. See his humble, yet tragic beginnings as a child who suffered from severe throat problems at a young age and went through 31 operations before hitting puberty! See how he endured the critcisms that he could never play football and of course, hear the story of his professional career in wrestling - from Calgary, to WCW, to ECW and then the WWE. You'll see all the career highs and lows, as well as personal highs and lows. This is a great in-depth, personal look at this fallen ring general. The DVD features many people who were close to Pillman and they help guide his story and provide many personal comments about him. You'll see Pillman's sisters, his wife, children, Jim Ross, Stone Cold and many others who were close to Pillman in one fashion or another. Included with this are some great extras, such as stories that were cut from the feature, skits/promos/interviews from Pillman's career in wrestling and about 15 matches. Most of the matches take place when Pillman was known as Flyin' Brian in WCW, but they're still great to watch because he really set up what we would later know as the Cruiserweight division. There are some singles matches, tag matches (when he teamed with Austin as the Hollywood Blondes), huge tag matches (like the Calgary Stampede 10-man tag match), a War Games match and a thunder cage match. There's only one or two matches that are disappointing, but the other are entertaining enough that I think we can let it slide. This is a great DVD for anyone who was a fan of Pillman, watched Pillman or likes to watch biography DVDs (such as the Bret Hart, Jake Roberts, LOD, etc collections). I highly recommend this to pretty much all wrestling fans.

One of the best wrestling DVDs ever!
Review created: 10/27/08

On May 22nd, 1962, Brian Pillman began his battle with life. Born with throat cancer, his childhood was a constant fight for survival, as he endured the pain of 36 throat operations. For Brian, life was a competition, and he lived like he competed; as if there were no tomorrow. When coaches told Brian he would be too small to compete in sports, he chose to play football. Brian earned an athletic scholarship at Miami of Ohio, then went on to become an All-American. In 1984, he was passed over in the NFL draft; but Pillman walked into the Cincinnati Bengles training camp, made the team and went on to win the pretigious Ed Block Courage award. Injuries cut his football career short, so Brian embarked on a new challenge; he trained with the legendary Hart family, and found his true calling. Brian Pillman revelled in the athleticism and outrageousness of being a superstar; it suited his lifestyle. Then, life threw him another challenge; a horrific accident with a drunk driver was nearly fatal. Brian's left leg and ankle were shattered. His wrestling career was seemingly over. As usual, Pillman refused to quit. His shattered ankle fused into one position; and despite constant pain, he returned to the ring. Ironically, Brian was most proud of that which came without a struggle; the love of his wife Melanie and his 5 young children. His battle with life ended tragically on Sunday, October 6th, 1997; but Brian Pillman's legacy of courage will live forever. This "Loose Cannon" DVD tells the complete story, and is a must for any wrestling fan.

  Brian Pillman: Wrestling Memories
Review created: 04/06/08

When I purchased this DVD, I had high hopes. I was a big fan of Brian Pillman as a teenager and a young wrestling fan. I was not disappointed. Some of the matches included I hadn't seen in years, and unlike the Bret Hart DVD set which was about 2-3 hours too long, this DVD was to the point. The documentary was honest and painted a personal picture of the REAL Brian Pillman who besides being a great athlete and competitor was a loving husband and a devoted father. In spite of the tragedy of his short and hard life, the fans are treated to a celebration by those who knew him best. For any fan of wrestling, especially those of us who loved to watch Brian Pillman perform in spite of all the hardships that he endured, this collection is for you. This is the ultimate tribute and thank you for a man who lived, breathed, and slept the sport of professional wrestling and gave his all everytime he got into the ring or in front of a microphone. The wrestling world is richer because of him and hasn't been the same since he left us.

The dvd I received was in good condition. I watched the video as I am an avid WWE fan. The story of Brian Pillman's life was very interesting to the fans that saw his character in the ring. The extras on the dvd's are fun stories to hear about.

A Diamond in the sea of coal which is WWE

Brian Pillman: Loose Cannon is a look into the life and times of one the most overlooked stars of the last 20 years, Brian Pillman. This DVD is one of the best WWE products available period. I say this because it is, for the most part, un-biased look into his career through the eyes of such stars as Steve Austin, Jim Ross and Eric Bischoff and family including his immediate family and widow. This DVD does leave the casual fan satisfied with a peak into each stage of Brians career. We are taken on a trip from his start in Calgary, to NWA/WCW, his battle with being undersized (culminating with the WCW lightweight title), teaming with Steve Austin, his famous shoot angle and his untimely end in WWF(E). Only thing that may be missing is more footage of the Hollywood Blondes, though a Flair for the Old makes up for not having Arn/Flair vs. The Blondes included in the set. I am obviously a Brian Pillman fan by this review and would of bought it no matter the content. That being said I was quite surprised by the content and anyone who wants to know the precursor to characters like "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and "The Rated R Superstar" Edge owes it to themselves to purchase this DVD. BIG THUMBS UP~!
