Breyer Animal Collector's Guide by Kelly Kesicki, Kelly Korber-Weimer (2007, Paperback, Revised)

Unlike the fourth edition, the fifth edition has beautiful photos with accurate colors (no more neon orange!). It is arranged in the same manner as the previous 4 books. People unfamilure with Bryer models may have a hard tiime identifying a model, but for those of us who are aquainted with the hobby, it is a breeze.
I did notice one mistake/omission in the Collectabull section. Photos of the Tractor Supply Company Special Runs Ugly and Silngblade are missing.
All in all, it is a nice improvement over the fourth edition, a must-have for the serious collector.

This book contains photos of every Breyer made, up to current printing date, including horses, cattle, dolls, dogs, etc. It's a great guide if you want to research models as it lists the model number, the year it was made, what mold it is derived from, and the color/marks the model features. This guide also contains collector's values. In an ideal world these values would be great but in the real world you have to find the right buyer to give you those prices. As the title says, it is a guide so use it as that, a guide. Don't expect to get those prices for every model you sell and don't pay those prices for the models you purchase (unless you can afford to and really want it!!). Overall it's a great guide that I purchased for guidance in buying and selling, I think others will be pleased with it too!

This book is a definite must have for any one interested in Breyer Models. The book is relavant to Dealers, Collectors and any one who shares a love of owning the plastic ponies. The authors have painstakingly put together a large number of excellent photos to aid in identification. The history and rating information is informative and accurate. The pricing guides are reasonable and helpful. I wait impatiently each year for the new guide to come out, you will not be disappointed with this book.

This book has hundreds of Breyer horses listed with full color pictures of each one. It also lists the year(s) that the models were made, a short explanation of the different colors, the price, and any other information that seems important to a collector. The beginning of the book has many helpful hints on collecting & how to rate the values. I was able to find all but one of my Breyer horses, which is a very old model. It didn't list it in the color that I have, but did show it in other colors. It also shows animals other than horses which were made by Breyer. A nice book for any horse collector.

Very enlightening guide to value of Breyer's model horses in particular, and history of production. Also educates about vintage models and how they can best be assessed for age. Many photos serve as a handy reference to models one might consider purchasing on ebay, in shows or stores, etc. Now that I have this guide, I hope never to be without a current edition in my library.

All in all, no better collector's guide is out there.

I really love this collector's guide. I bought it mainly to figure out how old a model that a friend bought me was. So that's why I choose this book. It's the best out there right now. Great pictures that are just stunning and makes you want to find the actual items and buy them. Even offers the viewer a look at hard to find model horses and special runs. A great guide for a horse nut like me! There is nothing wrong with this item! It's great all around.

The book is very informative about all the different styles colors and ages of the Breyer animals.The values can differ so much for just some of the smallest differences.The book has very nice detailed color pictures to illustrate the descriptions.

I actually prefer the format in the 4th edition. The 5th edition has all the necessary content, but is harder to reference items than the earlier edition.

This book has so much information in it. It is easy to use. The pictures are very good so it is easy to find and identify you breyers.

Great book this was the bestest book ever. I would buy it again. You should read it. It has great information in it.

This is an excellent book if you are a collector of Breyer horses. I bought it so I could be more educated about the Breyer horses I list in my store. My granddaughter also loves horses, so I can share this book with her.

Appears to be thorough - negative side is that I want to buy too much should items ever become available and most of them will be pricey.
