Breakthrough [Digipak] * by Colbie Caillat (CD, Aug-2009, Universal Republic)

"Breakthrough" is not exactly a breakthrough as the title suggests, just because what can be found here is a natural sequence to "Coco". The same feel and the same touch of doing music.

Despite this subtle detail, this second effort is good in general. It takes the listener to the very same place that "Coco" took. It may sound boring and repetitive at first, but from a second listening and on, it will remind everybody why Colbie came to our knowledge in the first place. Light-hearted lyrics, soft acoustic melodies in a mix which creates a perfect combination for what we usually call easy listening, hard to find style these days.
