Breaking and Entering (DVD, 2007)

Robbery and romance collide in Breaking and Entering, a surprisingly lethargic drama, especially considering the high-powered talent involved here. Written and directed by Anthony Minghella and starring such fine & talented actors as Jude Law, Juliette Binoche and Robin Wright Penn, this human interest story about intersecting lives in contemporary London peaked my curiosity, but failed to deliver the emotional wallop I expected.

Overall, I was not impressed. I still adore Jude Law, but this one will not be up there on my list of top movies.

I read the reviews on this movie before I purchased it which were not very good. This is film which is very English, European & such that is very dry. "The Holiday" was a good movie too. Both are worth watching. This one kept me awake so, I would say that it was pretty good. There is a lot of dialogue with plenty of movement through the different themes. It is also a very human movie. I liked the end & felt that it should end that way. Most movies leave you hanging wanting more & definitely a different ending. Since I too am European bred, I can fully relate to this movie's theme. Most people just will not get this movie or will only watch it because of Jude Law. The story itself & previews got me to watch it. I only recommend this film for the serious movie buff. The rest need to watch "The Terminator".

We mailed a Cashier's Check to the seller on 5/29/07 for the DVD Breaking and Entering. Our bank received the cleared check dated 6/6/07 with the seller's signature there on but to date we never received the DVD or any response from the seller after numerous attempts to contact via e-mail and registered mail. My husband plans on reporting the seller to the Philadelphia, PA Better Business Bureau. Please advise. Judy Koepfle
