Kelly, you are the wind beneath my wings. I know you rocked American Idol, but that weak crap that you put out after winning the competition was nothing compared to this much more mature, and, let's face it, rockin' album. Ever since I've been listening to it (like 8x a day), I can't get "Since you've been gone!!!" out of my head. I just can't breathe for the last time.
I guess the reason you're reading this review is to decide whether you want to buy this CD or not. The answer is: do not pass go, do not collect $200 - BUY THIS CD. You will not be sorry. And if you are, you can just sell it back on the site...

Kelly Clarkson makes you forget about her mediocre debut Thankful by cranking up the angst. By leveraging production from the likes of Max Martin (Nsync, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears) and Ben Moody (Evanescence). The first single Breakaway serves as a proper warm up to a record that is chalk full of angst and emotion. The album came as a shock I'm sure to most fans expecting an American Idol pop sing along. From the slamming drums of Since You've Been Gone to the loneliness of I Hate myself for Losing You we see a Kelly that is much more mature and who bares much more of her soul.
The album has already spawned 3 chart topping singles. Breakaway written by Avril Lavigne came out last summer as the theme for Princess Diaries 2 and refused to leave radio. Soon that was followed by Since You've Been Gone which was Max Martin's return to the production spotlight following the collapse of boy bands and their popularity in the United States. As the charts will show he didn't miss a beat. The song became a chart topper in America during Holidays of 2004. Following Since You've Been Gone was Behind These Hazel Eyes which received many accolades for Kelly being a co-writer on the project and for the songs crossover appeal. All of this has culminated to Breakaway being the fifth-best-selling album of the year, according to SoundScan. This album is 10 times better than her first album and shows Kelly's mature growth. Luckily Ruban hasn't eaten her yet so that she could make this terrific album that generations ahead will enjoy. She has really broken the image of the 'American Idol' into a hot punky chick with a terrific voice.

My friend recently bought Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway album. All we have done since is just listen to it over and over and over again! We can't get enough of her music. (And we're not teenagers either - mid to late 20's folks!) This CD is jam-packed with song after song that you'll fall in love with! From Breakaway, These Hazel Eyes, Since You've been Gone, and all the rest. Awesome! I'm going to be buying my own copy very soon!

Finally, the world is seeing the full talent of Kelly Clarkson who captivated our hearts as the first American Idol. In this album, she blends her soulful and powerful voice to beautiful songs of love and loss.

I just Love Kelly and here angelic voice. She is such a positive roll model for youth today compared to the others artists that are out there. As a Mom and Grandmother I whole hardidly stand by and support young artists like Kelly Clarkson and would encourage youth to listen to the positive and up beat music that Kelly and a few others have to offer. Kelly Clarkson should be proud of hereself as THE FIRST POSTIVE ROLL MODEL IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY! Hats of to you Miss Clarkson!

I’m not a Kelly Clarkson fan and pretty much shun anything American Idol related. However, I’ll give her a bit of credit for being the only one who has managed to put together a marketable career that could easily have tanked.
If you aren’t a fan of pop, please stay away or you’ll want to rip your ears out and cement them with spitwads. However, teenage girls will love this stuff as evident by her #1’s and platinum records.
I highly doubt any of the rest of the idol knockoffs will equal Kelly’s success; they should have stopped after the first season because she won’t be bested.

All I can do is imagine what she would have thought if she knew how sucessful her FIRST ALBUM would be, I mean what other artist has had their first album have what, 4 #1 hits! This is my favorite album, as she is also my favorite singer. Her songs bring inspiration to my doubts, because I can relate to her down to earth personality (meaning she doesn't act too superior, she acts like me or you, which I admire her for. My favorite songs on this album are: Breakaway, Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes, and Walk Away. YOU WILL enjoy this as much as I do, if not more. Buy this album!

This albulm is fresh and fun. The majority of the songs on this cd are or could be big hits. There are about 2 lackluster songs.
If you have liked any of Kelly's work, this is for you.

This album really rocks! Kelly Clarkson is the real deal. I bought this because I am a Kelly fan and liked her 1st album. She has real talent. This album went way above and beyond my expectations though. This girl has range and vocals to match. This album has many hits and the beat is great. There are songs like "Since U Been Gone", "Breakaway", "Behind These Hazel Eyes", and "Because of You". Then, there is the soulful rythem of "Where is your Heart" and "Walk Away" is a real funky song. There's a Live track of "Beautiful Disaster" from her first album too. This girl can sing anything great! GET THIS ALBUM.

I received this CD as a gift, only intending to listen to two songs. I have ended up loving most of them and only two or three weren't included when I transferred the CD to my iPod. Kelly Clarkson has a beautiful voice and great songs -- this is a GREAT CD for any Kelly fan. (And even non-Kelly fans! After hearing some of her greatest hits, such as "Behind These Hazel Eyes," "Since U Been Gone," "Breakaway," and my personal favourite, "Gone," they're sure to love her!)

It's not often that I come across a good pop rock CD and while I was hesitant to buy it at first, it's turned out to be great. Kelly has a good voice and vocal range. She sings with more passion in songs like "Because of You" which has both good lyrics and expression.

I was not a huge Kelly Clarkson fan before this album came out. I then seen the video for, "Since U Been Gone" and I was like, "Wow, awesome video, and a cool song too! I then bought the cd and I became a NEW Kelly fan! This cd has a GREAT mix of songs. From rockin' songs like "Behind These Hazel Eyes", and "Since U Been Gone", to songs that showcase Kelly's great vocals in "Because of You" and "Where Is Your Heart". This wonderful display of greatness ends with a live performance of, "Beautiful Disaster" turned into a ballad originally from her debut album "Thankful". After all this time, I still cannot stop listening to this one! Heidi

if you are looking for something that won't leave your head, with toe tapping reality, this is it. But don't rely on the lyrics to speak volumes to you on those penned by Kelly herself.
You can clearly tell who the writer is based on the title piece, (Avril Lavigne) and "Because of You", (kelly, et al.) Kelly, while a gifted vocalist needs to mature a bit in the writing department. ("Because of you I never stray too far from the sidewalk/Because of you I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt"?) Not to mention Addicted, Addicted ("It's like you're a leach/Sucking the life from me") YEEEOOOWWWWCCCHHH! Filled with "angst"? Yes! Scary thought? Most definitely!
Otherwise, if you are looking for something that will keep you company on a long car ride that you wouldn't mind letting others see you bopping your head to, this album won't do you no harm...because she actually makes up for some of those cheesy lyrics with her amazing vocal gifting.
I say: Go for it!

She sings from the heart, belts it out from the heart and she absolutely
deserves everything her path is given her. She is the MOST DOWN TO EARTH person out there and we need so many more girls like her. ever heard...by trying to move on...Hello, she would be an average nobody if she

When Kelly Clarkson won American Idol I thought that was her 15 minutes. Obviously I was wrong. I had mistakenly lumped her in with all of those "made for TV music gimmicks" like O-Town and Eden's Crush. But surprisingly, I like Kelly Clarkson. I ended up liking her so much I bought the CD and it is one of the most listened to CDs in my collection. "Hazel Eyes" is my most favorite track. The remix CD of that track is a MUST HAVE" as well.
