  Gulf war movie
Review created: 10/22/08

An interesting recounting of a British soldier's experiences from the first Gulf War. Sean Bean does a good job as the main character, and it's good to hear first person accounts from a war rather than journalistic propaganda.

Bravo Two Zero, the SAS in Iraq
Review created: 06/25/08

Excellent portrayal of the book by "Andy McNab" former SAS soldier who led a team of Special Forces SAS soldiers behind the Iraqi lines during the first Gulf War. Although parts of his account are refuted by other members of the regiment, this is no less a ripping story.
One thing that can't be refuted is that the Iraqis moved their "scuds" out of effective range after the SAS conducted these missions, with a result that many, many lives were saved.
The SAS motto: Who Dares Wins
Stars Sean Bean who viewers may recognize from Lord of the Rings and the Sharpe series. He is at his charasmatic best in this part.
This is a British production so don't expect the Hollywood style special effects. The BBC kept the action scenes realistic for the most part with actual battlefied tactics depicted. Lots of gallows humour here. Enjoy!

  A real "War" story
Review created: 06/05/07

Most of the so called documentary or "True tale" movies are crap. They take a single place or person and distort it out of all recognition. Not this time.
Thats what I like about this movie and why I bought it. Its as realistic as they could get. The acting was superb. The story line is accurate.

  BRAVO TWO ZERO
Review created: 01/06/07

The story line was quite authentic, and the photography (with the exeption of some archive footage) was excellent and very clear. I had some personal experience a number of years ago, doing some training with the SAS - and could personally assure anyone, these are VERY, SCARY people! They are also extremely well-disciplined and incredibly trained. There was nothing really that I disliked about the film at all. I bought it because of my past association with the SAS, the story line, and the presententation of events within the film itself. Everyone in the film performed extremely well, and presented a very good illustration of black ops.
