Braun Tassimo Coffee Maker

My wife & I (and almost everyone that comes to visit us) drinks gallons and gallons of coffee, literally. Here in the great white north (Canada), you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Tim Horton's coffee franchise. We used to spend half our life in Tim Horton's drive-thru lineup's paying $1.40/cup in the mornings, the evenings, and on the weekends. Now that we bought the Tassimo, no longer.

We used to have a drip coffee maker. I like my coffee strong, my wife likes it weak. Problem. I also find it very difficult to taste the difference between good coffee and crap coffee coming from a drip coffee maker. It all tastes like crap! It's also only good the second it's ready, wait any length of time or go for your 2nd cup and you'll usually find that it's either burnt tasting or cold.

I was thinking of getting a full-fledged zillion-dollar Italian coffee machine complete with foaming systems, etc. But every time I thought about it long enough, I soon came to the conclusion that I'd never use it ... it would sit there and collect dust. When I want a cup of java, I don't want a ton of stuff to wash, add-on's to pull out of the cupboards, work to do, etc. I just want a cup of coffee with little or no effort! :)

As for the coffee, it's excellent. Variety is great. I buy everything online and it arrives at my doorstep, or most of our bigger grocery chains stock the basic types of coffee. Tea is also good.

Downside? It's a tad pricier than drip coffee, obviously. But it's still only 1/4 to a 1/3 the price of a coffee from Tim Horton's. The biggest downside is the amount of garbage you have to throw away ... it's not environmentally friendly. They HAVE to do something about that. The entire container the coffee sits in should be completely biodegradable. I have written them about this, but so far no response.

There are literally NO OTHER downsides. Highly recommended. I've owned mine for a year and I'm getting one for my desk at work (thru Ebay!).

We have 4 Tassimo machines in my extended family. There are great machines if you love coffee but do not want to spend $5.00 for lattes and special teas. A cup of regular coffee in the morning takes no time. If you would like to induldge in fancier coffees, they are just as easy; look and taste wonderful. When entertaining, everyone can create a drink to their own taste.

If there was a downfall, it would be that the coffee pods can be difficult to find as not all groceries carry them. I took me a while to find out that Target carries Latte and Capichino.

I can mix my regular java with a shot of espresso so quickly and easily, I'll never to to Dunkin' again! Only thing I dislike is the amount of water it ejects during heating process; would think they'd have a better way of keeping it in the system, instead of ejecting it. only other comment I have is to Starbucks -- awfully pricey discs for what you get!!!

The braun tassimo is a nice average fast brew coffee maker. The system works really nice unless your are a heavy coffee drinker. You can only fit reg. size mugs in the machine and limited to one serving per a disc if you like it strong. The kurieg machine is comparable and has some more nicer features. But both in my eyes are a great little machine.

I love that I can have a quick rich, flavorful cup of whatever I want within moments of pushing a button. This machine has a drip tray - it's supposed to drip a little and Braun has made the machine with a tray to properly catch water drips so there's no mess! Yes, it can be a bit noisy, but the hum lasts maybe ten seconds and then you have awesome coffee, espresso, tea, or hot chocolate. I couldn't be happier with this machine and I've never been happier with any other.

Love the multiple kinds of coffees, teas, and lattes that can be made with the machine. I like the ability to mix the pods to create different products. Much easier to use than other systems tried.

this is not the first time, and it seems to be getting worse, but sellers misrepresenting their auction on e-bay. ebay's lack of monitoring and paypal's lack of coverage has left me turned off to shopping here.
counterfeits, misrepresentation and just plain not sending your purchase, and if the seller does get busted, all they have to do is change their name and screw us again.
I recently bought an item that was listed NIB and when i got it, it was missing parts, clearly used and smelly. not only did i get duped, i had to pay $20 out of my pocket to ship it back!
i wish there would be better regulations for sellers so that us buyers could feel a little safer when buying something. or at the very least that paypal would make it easier to get a refund.
i also sometimes sell on e-bay and i feel like these people give me a bad name. i am an honest seller and hate being put in the same boat with these hustlers and feel like i don't get as much for an item because of hesitant buyers worried about the same things i am on the buyer side. i know i am not alone in these sentiments and wish e-bay/paypal would do something to change their policies/operating procedures

I love this machine....I had a Home Cafe made by another company, and I did not like the taste of the coffee it made....it was watery or diluted or something?????? This coffee comes out with a rich, bold flavor, no matter which disc you use....oh, and my daughter loves the hot chocolate...and she can make it herself!!!!!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this machine!!! I have heard a lot of complaints about the cost compared to a drip coffee maker, but I cannot make a good pot of coffee to save my life and I never drink it all....this is the perfect cup everytime and no wasted coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love it. I don't have to run to 7-11 every morning to buy coffee. I just load the T disc and I have a hot delicious cup of coffee.

Water weep area allows water and escapes the cup. Disappointing. But the other one we bought at the same time worked okay.

I purchased the newer Bosch Tassimo and then liked the machine so much that I bought this Braun Tassimo on ebay at a very reasonable price. The newer Bosch does a slighty better job but both make excellent coffee. Highly recommend the machine if you like Cappucinos or Lattes, if not you might be better to purchase the Keurig Machine as it seems to have more brands of coffee available to use

The coffee that the Tassimo makes is GREAT! So is the hot chocolate! The only issue I have with the machine is the noise. It is LOUD!!! I thought about getting the senseo before but wanted to have the options the Tassimo machine gave me (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc...) but I had NO idea it would be SO LOUD. The Senseo machine is loud, but this is worse. I guess I will just have to pay the price of noise pollution for delicious hot beverages.

Makes an awesome cup of coffee!!!! Just as good as the pricey coffee houses!!!

I love the Tassimo coffee maker. It is easy to use and makes a great cup of coffee. It is however expensive compared to an average coffee maker and cup of coffee. But if you are used to Starbucks, or heck even McDonald's has designer coffees now, then the price is relatively low. For about $1 a cup you can make your own, just don't do it while anyone is sleeping in the house, it is loud. Sounds just like a real coffee house maker which adds to the ambiance of the experience with the Tassimo coffee maker.

A friend has this machine, and I loved using hers on a visit.We found this slightly used machine at 1/2 price too. We truly love this machine. I'm not clear on whether or not Braun was the predecessor to the Bosch, and if it is even still made,but I've heard that the Bosch machine addresses the negative Braun issues of final water drainage and noise (sort of sounds like a sick Harley). No biggie for us...we love this machine!

This was a used machine and it took a while to clean all the sensor. I am now enjoying my Tassimo Coffee Maker.

I bought this not realizing that the T-Disc is not available in rural communities like mine, so coffee is only obtainable through on-line ordering, and beyond that the selection on T-disc items is fairly limited, and pricey. The unit itself is cool and seems to operate okay, but what is that worth when the items to be processed are distant and out of reach.

This is a great machine, coffee never teast so good, everybody should have one.
It makes perfect coffee every time.

Love simplicity. Hate having to wait for it to decide to warm up and work.
This is when you turn the machine off to save electricity in Hawaii on solar energy. Its quite loud when it runs. So far Chai latte is rated #1 in our house.

This machine is good for the lazy guy who knows nothing about coffee. No measuring needed. Makes one cup per disc. If you drink alot of coffee then this is not for you. These disc get very expensive. Better to buy a bag full. But if you are a lazy bum like me who does not care about the quality of your coffee as long as it is hot and don't like to clean much then this is for you. This will not compare to a professional machine with fresh brewed coffee.
