Braun AromaDeluxe KF 510 10-Cup Coffee Maker

What a major improvement! Water tempature is heated by 1100 Watts for nice Hot Coffee!!! Filter basket is removable and dishwater safe and also locks into position. Has Brita water filter to filter water. On/Off button is great. Nice big red on button with no accidential turn on. What an improvement over KF 400 Series! Carafe is dishwaaher safe with no spill spout ! I did buy a gold filter from Wal Mart which works great with unit. This unit is a keeper ! I rate this unit EXCELLENT !!!!!

I wrote this review to send to Braun only to find out I had to give them more personal information than I wanted to for the submission to be accepted. I decided to post it here on eBay hoping it might help others learn what to expect from the KF-510 model when compared to older Braun models like the KF-400 series. The quality of the brewed coffee they make is to me equivalent, giving the KF-510 the nod for hotter coffee.

I had two KF 420W model coffee makers, the first lasted several years and was a better quality product than the second. In my view, it was a mistake to discontinue this model. Its compact size was ideal for kitchens with limited counter space. I now have a KF 510B, not quite a year old. It is too large for my limited kitchen counter space. The gloss black finish should be for the most part matte black, the turquoise colors should be clear or silver (really look ugly on white model) and the red on/off switch is ridiculously large. A black lid on the carafe makes more sense than white. The pump started making noise a few months ago and the lid doesn't close fully because it comes to rest on the plastic column inside the front of the water reservoir. The only improvement over the 400 series is the filter basket latch and push button release. Even these newer models are hard to find in retail stores, I had to buy my 510B online. The 550 and 580 models have features I don't need or want, especially for the big price difference vs. the 510. Given a choice, I would rather pay more and have well made product that lasts than end up with a product that is designed and built primarily to meet a low price point.

This is my second one of these, the first one lasted 3 years. I've had many Braun coffeemakers and most of them only lasted 1 year, but I use it all day, every day. It makes an outstanding cup of coffee, looks good, and is just a no frills coffeemaker. I tried a Mr. Coffee and a Black and Decker and they made terrible tasting coffee. I never could get the plastic taste out of the Mr. Coffee, even using vinegar and baking soda. No problems like that with the Braun though. Shop around and you can always find a good deal on this model, usually on ebay or at Amazon.

This is a study in deceiving yourself. I purchased this product in an odd circumstance. I had one already and it was the better model which admittedly the only difference was the ability to time the first pot in the morning or whenever but to be honest I found it to be just a waste of electricity since this coffee maker is one of the fastest brewers I've ever used. You must know that I went through about 4 other makers before finding Braun and regardless of price I found the Braun to be the finest of them all. Well untill I bought this one. I now admit that I only bought it because we broke the glass caraff and the price of the replacements offered are almost as much as a whole new machine here on e-bay so....we bought the whole new machine. The new one worked perfectly for about a week and then it would overflow somehow when it brewed. Too much water too fast and we had coffee all over the place. A defective unit. I cantacted the seller ...no reply. Well I just switched back to the old one with the new glass pot and we're back in business. Conclusion: let the buyer beweare and make sure you buy this excellent product from a relialable seller. Yes, I would buiy another one even though I got stuck.

Worst purchase I've made on ebay. Just did not want a hassle of neg. feedback or disputes, returns, etc. Has not worked since day received. Will never order from
wholesale, or actually 'seconds site' ever again. Leaks, coffee does not completely fill pot, leaving a mess in the basket., and on the countertop
