Yes, Marlon had a bad childhood and his parents were drunks who abused him mentally.
Yes, he managed to become very successful as an actor and millions of folks could adore him as a result.
Yes, he was quite the self-admitted stud and had thousands of sex-partners.
At one point he admits that money, sex and booze meant nothing to him in the end...but then he's not sure if he really said that or not...
Yes, he spent lots of time with Jews, Blacks and American Indians trying to prove what a big-hearted, righteous fellow he was. He finally felt used by both groups even though he thought he could get their love, they didn't love him at all, except some of the women, sexually.
Yes,in the end, you can see from this book, how Marlon spent his whole life trying to get the love he so needed but couldn't get from his parents, from sexual encounters with ANYONE and from championing different causes that later just used his fame to benefit their cause.
Yes, the most important areas of his life, his CHILDREN, are forbidden subjects in this book. His greatest failure in life and he couldn't own up to it.
I guess even the great must keep up the image, even to themselves.
