Brainwashed by George Harrison (CD, Nov-2002, Capitol/EMI Records)

I bought this not only because I was a teenager during the 60's but also because I was curious as to what George had to say at this latter time of his life. As usual his perceptions were deeply explored, and expressed with charming irony. His musical instrumentations are typically well crafted along with contributions from talented friends. George continued to reflect that peaceful mirth seemingly indigenous to Pisces....Goodbye George....Thanks for everything...obviously you and Johnny passed the audition!

If you liked George Harrison's previous CLOUD NINE then you will love his final recording. Brainwashed is a great display of George and his sons Dhani's vocals and super slide guitar. This CD picks up where Cloud Nine left off. Jeff Lynne's produces another masterpiece.

This CD was recommended by Deepak Chopra in an interview for Borders Books. It was okay. I enjoy it but don't grab for it first when choosing music.

I really like this album, not only because it is the last recorded message of the artist, but because it represents the insight of a journey and struggle, that perhaps in simple ways we all come to face at some point and share! When it begins, the truth is right up front, "When you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!" When it comes down to the end, we're all "brainwashed" by what we believe, it only matters that what we leave is really left for others!!! I think George Harrison made this album, with his fun loving and serious nature that will last as a portrait of who he is!

I have to admit that this one came as a huge surprise to me. I like George but his music was never really my thing. One day I was at the library looking for something interesting to get and this was pretty much all they had. I put it in my car CD player and I was impressed from the start. It got better and better and then Brainwashed hit. I was blown away by the lyrics. George was speaking my language. 5 Huge Stars.

I had originally bought George Harrison's Brainwashed CD as a gift for my sister, who is a huge George Harrison fan. After hearing it, though, I discovered that I like it as much as she does. The lyrics are catchy and meaningful, and he proves himself again and again to be a top notch guitarist throughout the album. The instrumental ’Marwa Blues’ is George at his best. I recommend it highly to anyone who is a George Harrison fan, as well as to anyone who likes music that takes you a little farther than the standard pop we‘re used to hearing.
