This Boy's Life (DVD, 2003, Widescreen)

This is a great movie. It depicts life in the late 1950's in a small WA. state town very well. The hair styles and clothes are both very true to the era. Also, the way the teenagers talk is also very true to that era. The town in WA. state where most of the movie is filmed, still looks not much different from the way it looked in the 50's. All in all, a superb movie.

This is just pure geneous from beggining to end. I found it funny in some parts where deniro bullies on decaprio & some sceens are just insanely funny as well. If you havent seen this then i beleave you are missing out on a classic & i also beleave decaprio learned a lot from deniro in this movie. 5 stars!

All I can say is , to see Leonardo DeCaprio acting at this young age
is ...he is Great and DeNiro is great at being a jerk .... I love that seen where that big Buick loses control and gets stuck ... those old Buicks ran beautiful but , they were not that good on slick highways or curves !!!

To see DeCaprio with so much talent at his age ... you know he will be great in later years !!!

Always a Robert Deniro fan, this movie shows you he has so much more acting ability than his usual NY wiseguy personna. What a talent! True coming of age story, a true story, that even brought up in a tough home, one can still persevere!

Deniro is convincing, Ellen Barkin is a joy, showing women its ok to be on your own, that you can make it. That enough is enough! And Leo Decaprio, gives an amazing performance of a confused youth who turns himself around despite all the challenges that get in his way!

I did not like the abuse in the movie, but Robert De Niro is a brilliant @ talented actor, and i decided to buy this movie because of him.

I love this movie. It shows how great of an actor Leo is and it is an amazing story of how to get out of a bad situation.

This is a great movie. I belive this was the first big role for Leonardo DiCaprio, and wow, what a role. Robert De Niro stars as his step-father, and he's great, too.

i liked this movie when it first came out, and i had forgotten about it .was thinking about older movies and this one popped up so i decided to see if i could find it.

This movie will resonate with everyone. Incredible acting and moving story.
It is bittersweet and very close to the book by Tobias Wolfe.

That movie is a masterpiece in so many respects...I am so glad I found it on ebay, as I couldn`t find it elsewhere. I bought it for my brother, who lives in china . That was by far his favortite movie. It still is.

A classic Robert de Niro film he plays a ruff character to the tee. Ellen Barkin also plays a mother who wants the best for her son Leonardo Dicaprio.

This film portrayed a totally believable story. DeNiro was excellent as the abusive and controlling stepfather. The other actors also portrayed their parts in an appropriate way.

Loved this movie! It's based on a true story and a different type of character for Denerio...he was such a Jerk in this movie but still a great actor. Great story wonderfully done.

What an unbelievable movie!Every strand woven together so perfectly. R. DeNiro as versatile an actor as anyone on the planet could possibly ever even dream of being,racks up yet another astonishing portrayal that will make your hairs stand up merely by some of his facial expressions.He's perfect as the breathing type of nightmare that one would have to inhale & walk on eggshells around. Leo is so awesome,fresh and realistic embodying hope despite his impossible circumstances. He makes you feel for him so fiercely. Ellen Barkin too is so understandable,facing the dilemma of wanting to raise her son in the best way that she thinks she can & then dealing with being trapped with DeNiro. A true story but mapped out SO WELL. Leo was younger in this film but it's just amazing that movies like this are being made at all let alone years back when this one was. Things just never seemed to ring so true on the screen back when. Great encouragement for present & future writers that this one was made-especially with this cast. And I haven't even included the other outstanding performances,DeNiro's children and some of Leo's friends. DON'T let this one slip by.
