This book was so amazing. I wouldn't have watched more than 5 minutes if I didn't already know what it was about. Ira must be pissed. I highly recommend the book!

Fun film
Once I sat next to Mr. Peck on an airplane flight,
I said Sir May I share an observation with you about your motivation for the role of Dr.Mengele ?
He said politely but with a HIGHLY RAISED EYE BROW,
"well, if you must !"

I then did a HOW DARE YOUR INTERFERE WITH THE FUHERES MISSION
and said now here is where you reached back into your film history
and in the same gravely mad growling voice said

I STAB AT THEE FOR VENGENCES SAKE THO DAMMED WHITE WHALE
Moby Dick, Captain Ahab

Mr Peck the last great gentleman star of the Golden era slapped his thighs laughed a grand belly laugh and said,
Well Dam you are exactly correct ! Since its free I shall buy you a drink !

I then explained my own thespian background as credentials !

Excellent movie!! I highly recommend. The writer/author/director take actual people from history and present them in a fictional story which seems so real, it could have actually happened. Did it??? Find out in this movie!!!

  no CLONING AROUND~ ahead of it's time~
Review created: 01/26/08

in 1978 this movie was a bit far fetched involves CLONING as the key to the plot~
We see Dr. Mengele a Nazi Doctor (Gregory Peck) hiding out in South America come up with a rather involved plot to kill off people as part of a bizarre Nazi modern day plot but why? Along comes Leventhal a Jewish Nazi Hunter had the plot dropped on his lap and he takes up the mystery of why the to kill people and the deaths. After talking with a jailed former nurse of Mengele who gave dozens of beautiful little boys to germanic couples the plot to KILL people and the little boys are the "center" of the cloning mystery when several of the boys in different countries look exactly~ ALIKE~ cloning was not even considered possible but the plot is now something we could NOW see occuring. The best part is how the movie "ties " all the loose ends of the mystery boys and the deaths and the Nazi dream of a NEW Order together with out totally giving away the plot~ you will like it. there is A BIG TWIST added to this plot I will not give away..just watch it~ Peck is very good as the insane doctor giving his all to clone the boys to continue the insane nazi dream~ ADDED is wonderful Sir Laurence Olivier sounds so German we forget he is not~ ADD Lilli Palmer as his sister. I give a solid 7 out of 10. the End makes the whole adventure worth the watch~

IF YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE~

Really interesting movie. the acting isnt bad. And the plot, a little out there for when it was made but is possible with todays technology. This movie is worth at least watching once.

My husband and I were talking about old movies and this one came up and we thought it would be fun to have it. We went on ebay where we find so many rare movies and typed it up sure enough we found it. This movie came pretty quick and in excellent condition. We love our movie and we want to thank you so much for having it avaible for us.I always go on the sellers history to find out alittle about them and if I see they are honest with their ratings they received Then I feel safe enough to purchase their product. I had no problem with this purchase. would love to do business again..Thank you

Cloning meets Naziism - AWESOME thriller & soundtrack
Review created: 04/10/06

Anytime you make a thriller dipped in reality, you do right by the movie-going public. Greggy Peck makes a PURELY EVIL Mengale and the music is downright bone-chilling. Another reminder that Germans are not all Nazi's...but that some old Nazi's never die. This was made in 1975 but is more suspenseful than retro; and darn anyone who would speak of a remake. There is a memorial at Dachau which reads "Nei Weider" (Never Again) This movie assures the viewer that the Jewish folks are indeed NOT going to take it anymore, but at what cost? Great movie so I say go for it! Sir Lawrence O makes a great Nazi hunter too!
