yes, that is actually the tag line. I saw this movie a couple of years ago and wondered - why had I not heard of this movie before??!!!! It is brilliant, funny and has a young & yummy Don Johnson, you know before he became icky Don Johnson.

Set in the post-nuclear future where food and women are scarce. Don Johnson (who plays Vic) and his dog Blood communicate telepathically. When the boy meets a girl and follows her to her underground hometown he becomes a baby-making machine. Seems that there is a fertility problem down under. At first it seemed like a great gig for Vic but soon he misses his freedom - and his dog. So he plans an escape and the girl he originally fell for follows. That is not were it ends, but it is were I stop because I don't want to spoil anything.

Excellent movie adapted from a Harlan Ellison novella, great performances, funny, smart and clever all the way through. If you like sci-fi, post-nuclear/apocalyptic movies this one is for you!

This is science fiction presented in the only way I can stomach the genre: mixed in with a lot of social commentary. Decent acting and a superb script written by Harlan Ellison transports the viewer to a STRANGE post apopalyptic world where, well, dogs and pussy still rule. As the lead character knows, always choose the dog over pussy. A good dog is harder to replace.

Item as described, painless transaction, No worries. Would Highly recommend!! The price and shipping and handling was very reasonable. Not a pirate copy, like some sellers decieve in their descriptions.

Underrated as a comedy. Don Johnson is good and fun to see me so young. The last three minutes are three of the best in movies.

  A Boy and His Dog
Review created: 09/02/09

The movie starts out with a young Don Johnson, before he starred in Miami Vice. The character that Don plays is a young, late teen boy, looking for food and women after World War 5. His companion is a dog that can talk to his mind. Most of the landscape is barren, with sand and a few falling down buildings. His dog friend uses its' nose to find can goods buried in the sand, and also warns him of danger, which is all around him. The dog and the boy ague back and forth, which adds humor to an otherwise view of a bleak future.

The movie is so unusual that you must see it to believe it.

My 2 sons and husband enjoyed the movie also.
Probably no one under 13 should see it.

maybe in 1975 this movie would have been a real scandaless flick but in 2009 it is just plain BAD. very stupid and poorly written.

I liked the first half of the movie but was unable to watch the second half because of poor film quality so I will never know. I wrote Willdvds about the quality but never received a response.
