All rights reserved.| Synopsis A boy tending sheep on a lonely mountainside thinks it a fine joke to cry "wolf" and watch the people come running--and then one day a wolf is really there, but no one answers his call. In this spirited retelling of the classic story, a bored young shepherd, tired of lying around in the field attempting to show the sheep how to do things other than munch on grass, turns to another idea for amusement. After he cries "Wolf!" and the entire town comes running, the boy is greatly diverted. A friend sticks around to play, leaping over the sheep with glee. On yet another desperately sluggish day, the shepherd starts shouting about two wolves, and so on. But when it really counts, when the wolves are all over the place, the boy is in serious, though hilarious, trouble. With amusing, full-color artwork.
Publisher's Note Bored with tending his sheep in the pasture, a young boy decides to liven up the afternoon by screaming to everyone that there are wolves approaching, in a classic tale about a mischievous child with an amusing new twist.
