Bottle Makers and Their Marks by Julian Harrison Toulouse (1971, Book, Illustrated)

This book is an amazing source of information that archaeologists and historians have been using as their primary source for dates and histories for many many years. Toulouse is famous, even if his book has rarely been in print. Copies are often hard to come by, so if you're serious about dating bottles, take any chance you get to acquire a copy. It's amazing! There are always details missed, but with Toulouse you're nearly guaranteed to find the mark you're looking for in American Bottle Making history. Not for the casual user but incredibly easy to read if you're really researching. Organized alphabetically by company with full illustrations of most marks.

Please don't take bottles form federal land: it's a felony! Enjoy glass but leave it in place unless you own the land it's on. Bottle marks are one of the only ways archaeologists can date sites and better understand the history of the countries in which they work. Thank you and enjoy this book!!
