Born in Death by Nora Roberts (2006, Hardcover)

Out of all of the books in the "in Death" series, this one is by far my favorite. I think she stepped away from the repetetive things she was starting to do in the other books (ie: Eve's nightmares were happening too frequently).

Eve and Roarke suffered through child birth classes, Peabody was still dreamy over Roarke, and Mavis still cracked me up!

This is, in my opinion, the best of the 'in Death' series so far! Eve and her gorgeous hubby, Roarke are gritting their teeth through birthing classes and talk of babies, labor signs and rainbows as they prepare to be coaches for their friend, Mavis ~ almost fully gestated and ready to pop. Meanwhile, it's business as usual for Eve, who has a double homicide to dive into (which is where she'd rather be than cooing and fussing over pregnant women, anyway!). Then, in a twist, it's business NOT so usual when she further gets caught up in a missing person's investigation. It's typical Eve burning her candle at both ends with Roarke right by her side the whole way.
I always chuckle a little bit when reading an 'in Death' title ~ this time, I was really, REALLY glad I was alone in my house when I finished it, as I was laughing out loud!
To be diplomatic, I've tried to come up with SOMETHING negative to put out there, but honestly, I got nuthin'! It was flat out an excellent book!

This was only one of three of the JD Robb "In Death" series of books that I didn't have. I was delighted to find it, and at a good price. The book was new, as advertised, and in excellent condition. Packed well, mailed promptly and arrived safely. It was great to be able to shop from my home. Boy, did I enjoy reading it! Thanks, EBay!

I love the J.D.Robb novels about Eve Dallas and Roarke. She develops such wonderful characters that you want to know all about them. Through her series, the characters change and grow, relationships begin, end, change. I fell so much in love with the world of Eve Dallas and the many wonderful characters who inhabit it, I had to start with the first one and follow each story in turn.

The stories are set in a future time (2058 to begin) and the serial killers are horrendous, their crimes are mind boggeling (sort of reminds you of the villans in the Alec Cross series). The future cops are techno savy and have advanced in their abilities to track the bad guys.

Born in Death is another of her series that is captivating and wonderful. Susan Ericksen is a great narrator with the talent to give each character their own unique voice.

If you haven't listened to this series yet, I heartily recommend it. I often give books and tapes away once I read/hear them, but this series I will keep and treasure. I plan to listen to them often.

I bought the book for my wife. She has read or is reading all her books in the series. She really enjoys the story line.

The "...IN DEATH" series, without a doubt, is one of the best. The perfect mix of mystery, psychological thriller, and romance, each book in this series always offers up a reading delight.

Once again, Eve Dallas is faced with solving a horrific crime. This time, as often happens with Dallas, the death of a young account executive and her financial manager fiance brings her own strong emotions into the mix. Since she's already dealing with the imminent arrival of Mavis's baby, the fact that she and Roarke are to serve as birthing coaches, and not to mention the baby shower she must throw for her friend before that happens, Eve's nerves are already stretched thin.

When Mavis's pregnant friend, Tandy, goes missing, Dallas now finds herself working two cases simultaneously. The two start off on different paths, but by the end of the investigation she might find that they have a lot in common--including new life and new death.

When questions of ethics are thrown into the mix by Whitney and his superiors, the crap hits the fan, and Eve and Roarke must put aside pride and anger to deal with their relationship, while still working on justice for the murder victims.

BORN IN DEATH is another winner in this series. As always, I raced through the book in record time, and was sad to be finished with the story when it ended. I can't wait for the next release, and hope to be able to see Eve and Roarke finally get that vacation they both deserve. And, if I get to read about them running naked on the sand under a bright sun, I probably won't complain!

I really liked this book. It really held my interest and kept me reading to find out the ending. This book was also funny at times. I have read other books of this series and like them also.

this was excellent. Fast paced and very challenging with respect to the finish.

Latest book in the Eve Dallas detective series. Eve and Roarke face danger and a few surprises in this story. Started this series several years ago, and now just wait for each new book to come out. Each new book lets you get to know each character just a little bit more. Some new surprises happen in this book to make you laugh and get sentimental.

It is a good read and keeps you involved in the story to find out what happens next. I just eat these books up. Then reread them again and get all the details. Now I have to wait for the next one.

If you start off somewhere on the later books, by all means go back and try to start from the beginning. It a great way to meet all the various characters and get to know and love them. I would take Roarke any day of the week and I just love how Peabody falls all over him. . . . You can picure these characters and anticipate their antics and actions.

This was one of the best of the "in death" stories by Robb/Roberts, and I have read them all. If you haven't read it I highly recommend it. It puts Eve and Roarke in a totally unfamiliar situation with Mavis' insistence that they help her through childbirth classes and the subsequent birth itself.

Eve and Roarke ... what more could you want? It's sexy, steamy, suspenceful and just another hit in the "... In Death" series. Nora Roberts writing as J.D. Robb is fabulous.

This book is a quick read. However, I felt that the storyline made some hard to follow jumps. If you enjoy the In Death series, as I do, this should be part of your collection.
