I have read every one of Brad Meltzer's six novels. They are always excellent, and THE BOOK OF FATE is no exception. It is riveting. From the first page on it is a "I cannot put this book down" kind of book.
The book opens with an assassination attempt on the President of the United States. The President survives the incident, but a top aide and the President's first errand boy, Wes, are shot.
Next, the book shifts to eight years later. The hero, Wes, is on a chase to find out what is going on and what happened eight years ago. Meltzer takes the reader on quite a journey and the writing is superb. I could actually feel like I knew these characters, and what they were going through and how they felt.
Filled with fast paced action, complex plots and subplots, wonderful character development, twists and turns, political intrigue, and intertwined with humor, Brad Meltzer has another hit! I am looking forward to his next novel. I just hated to put this one down even when I was finished!
