The first season is the best. If you like the show you have to at least get this season. I bought and watched it three times in the first week.

  Bones season 1 dvd
Review created: 05/25/09

I couldn't believe the starting bid on this dvd! It was brand new still in the wrapper. The starting bid was .99 cents with only a $3.00 shipping. How could I go wrong? I had been looking a this set at department stores and major retailers for awhile. I just couldn't bring myself to paying almost $40 for it. The auction was for 5 days. Every 8 hours I checked the auction to watch my bid. At auction close, I won the dvd! I ended up paying $18 total with the shipping.
When the dvd arrived via U.P.S, it was exactly as the seller had described it. I have been very happy to have delt with so many honest sellers on Ebay. They (ebay) seem to have a good way of screening their sellers. I am a very happy buyer of ebay products and will be selling some of my own stuff on ebay too!
Thank-you ebay!

Live 600 miles north of anywhere USA. So have never paid for TV and have yet to have cable or satelite TV. However that probably will come next Feb...maybe not? So no FOX network up here. So no Bones or House etc. My husband liked the series Bones from the begin. I did not. I even walked away from watching 4 & 5....then sat down to sit through 6. Oh what a difference a few shows and progress in writing and directing does.(I objected to the flight style meetings she was having everyone was having down aisles and stairwells and roads and even in the car with same fake scenery flying back in windows.....and sometimes what the conversations were about were nothing that connected.....thank you baby J----...for the leaps of improvement. Eventually I did go back and watch the skipped episodes. And we've now gone through season 2. Waiting nail biting for the third season to hit the markets around Nov. 18. So had to turn to give Prison Break a trial run...and oh my gosh....our neighbors really like that kind of inhumanity played out. At least Bones has some taste and less brutalities. Neighbors well get Prison Break 1-3 seasons given to them. I agree with others...they over play the lead...as a bit to out of touch socially. Sure now and again they might play a what moment....but all the time....really? Keep her classy !!!
And keep this series going......at least 5 more years....at least!

Bones: Not what Kathy Reichs' books fans expected!
Review created: 10/04/07

Although I have only watched the first 10 episodes of Bones on DVD so far, I can already tell that this series is nothing like what I expected. I was a fan of Temperance Brennan from Kathy Reichs' books, but the Dr. Brennan in the show is not the Dr. Brennan from the books. I feel like the TV doc is naive and kind of pitiful, as they have made her such a brainiac that she has no idea how to relate to people and can't understand most references to popular culture. Her entire back story has changed, with no ex-husband, no daughter, no sister, no commuting between the US and Canada, and none of the other characters we met in the books.

In addition to finding a completely different and disappointing character, I also found the plot to be weak. Instead of letting Tempe and us get to meet Booth, her new FBI partner, we are just dumped into the middle of an already complex relationship between the two. We have no idea how they met and started working together. She also has a set of lab assistants who are all goofy in their own way, and we have to get to know them too in the middle of their relationship with her. I think it would have been better if she had just started working at the Jeffersonian Institute and met all of these people during the first episode so we could all get to know them together.

So anyone who was a fan of the books, don't expect this TV show to have much to do with the heroine you are familiar with, as she is nowhere to be found. The subject matter, forensic anthropology, is there as expected, but the characters are completely inventions of the television world. It is an amusing show, but nothing that special in my humble opinion.

I bought this for my Girlfriend for Valentine's day. It's one of her favorite shows. The commentary gives good insight on the early ideas, making of the show. Well worth the purchase price...

Bones Season 1 Posted by CK-Auctions

Bones is a television that first aired on the FOX Network in 2005. The series is a crime drama about an unlikely pair who work together to solve crime, Booth, an FBI agent who uses his gut and instinct, and Brennan, a forensic anthropologist who uses evidence and science, to solve cases. As such, Booth and Brennan work on cases that involves bodies that are burnt, decomposed, or destroyed beyond recognition. Joining them is Brennan's forensic team from the Jeffersonian Institute. The show is partly based upon the fictional novels written by Dr. Kathy Reichs. As an overall crime drama, Bones gets two thumbs up. It is a fun show that includes drama, mystery, comedy, and action. Not to mention, it has a fairly well-rounded cast and solid storylines.

Headlining the cast are David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel. Boreanaz plays FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth. Booth is a former Army Ranger sniper who relies on his wit to solve cases. He believes it is his intuition and ability to read people that solve cases. Evidence and the scientific process mean almost nothing to him. He works for the FBI in the homicide unit trying to solve as many murder cases as possible to make up for the countless lives he took as a sniper.

Deschanel plays Dr. Temperance Brennan, who Booth affectionately calls Bones. Brennan is a forensic anthropologist who works for the Jeffersonian Institute. Her area of expertise is postmortem identification of bodies that are beyond recognition by conventional means. She is an expert martial artist and marksman. She desires to work cases from both the laboratory and the field. She lost her family when she was fifteen. To date, she is still looking for them. It is this incident that drives her to solve cases.

Overall, Bones is an exciting drama that focuses on homicide cases and dead bodies burnt, decomposed, or destroyed beyond recognition (you might not want to eat while watching this show). The series has a strong cast who works quite well individually and together, as well as solid storylines with only a tad bit too much drama. In the end, Bones makes for a compelling drama that any fan of crime dramas will enjoy.

  Bone Deep

Pros:
Just the right amount of comedy, drama, and kick-butt action.

Cons:
The end of the season leaves with so many questions yet to be answered.

To Solve a Murder, You Must Strip it to the Bone (imdb). The inspiration for the TV series Bones is based on the novels set in Montr al written by the renowned author Kathy Reichs. What s unique about this series is in the show the main character, Temperance Brennan, is a Forensic Anthropologist who writes books in her spare time, and in real life Kathy Reichs is the Forensic Anthropologist who writes book about the character Temperance Brennan. Main character on the show is Temperance Bones Brennan who is played by Emily Deschanel. This 31 year old French-Irish American graduated from...

Pros:
Great cast and storylines.

Cons:
I can't think of one.

With the untimely demise of Angel the fans lost an amazing show and two incredibly hot vampires. David Boreanaz is back but this time he's a hot fed. Sadly we're deprived of his oh so beautiful chest but Seeley Booth is a great character. I don't know what the deal is with that first name so it's no wonder that everyone calls him Booth. Emily Deschanel plays Temperence Brennan and people might recognize her from the movie Boogeyman. This character is taken from the books that Kathy Reichs writes that are based on herself since she's also a forensic anthropologist. There are differences...
