I bought the game for my 12 y/o son who absolutely HAD to have it for the ds he got for Christmas. He likes the graphics, it's easy to play and lots of action. I bought it because i was unable to find it at the local store we go to and the price was compatible, if not a little better than at the store. Only problem he had was getting multi-player to work after 15 minutes and the kids were all right there with each other. Seemed a problem of the game and not the system as they were able to connect multi-player with other games immediately. Overall i'd say he is very happy with the purchase.

I bought this for my daughter. She plays it and really enjoys it.

I can't add anything to this because I haven't ever played it.

  Bombs away!
Review created: 08/07/06

When I first purchased Bomberman I had some sceptism about how the game was going to be. I had never previosuly bough a Bomberman game and I had no idea frankly what Bomberman was about. When I first played Bomberman, I realized how easy the controls were: to lay a bomb was the "a" button and that was basicly it. The game includes an adventure mode where you play through levels blowing up your enenmies, which is a somewhat short adventure taking about 6 hours, depending on your skill. But what I thought was the greatest feature of the game: the replay value. The multiplayer for Bomberman is unbeatable. Up to 8 players can download play from only one player for total insaneness. There are a variety of levels and options for the multiplayer battles which also greatly inhances the value of the multiplayer and its playback value.

Bottom Line: Even if your a newbie like me or an old timer with the Bomberman series, this is a must if you have a Nintendo DS!

  Bomberman - Great Group Game
Review created: 04/26/06(updated 05/07/08)

Another fun addition to the Bomberman family. While the single player game play is very similar to previous Bomberman titles, the touch screen feature adds an extra bit of versatility to the gameplay. The dual screen boss fights are nice as well. While this game can be frustrating at times, it is still fun and challenging. Its greatest strength lies in the DS Download gameplay. The variety of modes and challenges you can play with friends will keep a group entertained for quite some time. The times I played with friends, we played until our batteries were drained. What's more, you and up to 7 other friends can play from a single game card; the more friends the more fun.

Classic fun with a DS twist

I've always been a bomberman fan since the Super Nintendo days and Believe it's one of the best multiplayer games ever made, besides Micro Machines and Worms. I was very excited to get the DS version especially since it allowed for multiplayer mayhem with one cart. The game is even more awesome than the SNES version as it allows up to 8 players to join in. I would definitely recommend this game to people who like multiplayer games and have a bunch of family and/or friends who have a DS. The only gripe I have is the implementation of the stylus in launching bombs from the sideline when you get killed. This method really doesn't work for me and it seems like a juggling act to go from buttons and D-pad to the stylus and if you are lucky to get back in the game switching back off of the stylus. Other than that this game rocks the house.

  Bomberman Battling
Review created: 08/07/08

The Bomberman series is classic, and I have played several of them on different Nintendo consoles, but I have never played Bomberman on the Nintendo DS before now. I like how there are several different stages for Battle Mode, and the fact that some stages use voice activation for laying out or detonating bombs. I also enjoy that up to seven other players can join in the game with a single card download or I can choose to just battle against the CPU. Although the Battle Mode is excellent, I do not care much for the story mode. It is not very creative and the Quick Save function is very confusing. I wish that I could save anytime I want to, but the game only automatically saves at half way points. For example, there are several islands that you can progress to, and each island has ten stages. The only time that the game will save your data for you is after completion of stage five and after completion of stage ten. If you lose all your lives before reaching these points, you must start from the beginning which can be a hassle and a bit frustrating. However, I think the the battle mode outshines the story mode. It is still the same idea with a little twist to it, and it utilizes the stylus for the revenge mode (if revenge mode is set). I thoroughly enjoy Bomberman DS and encourage any hardcore Bomberman fan to try it out.

Its a great game, the multiplayer mode on it is amazing and has hours of replayability on it. The single player mode is a little harder, but once u get the hang of it it is just a fun as multiplayer. Its funny and a great stress reliever! lol

Not as good as Super Bomberman (SNES)
Review created: 08/02/06

Having enjoyed Super Bomberman for SNES and Bomberman 64 for the N64, you can't go wrong with Bomberman DS... wrong! This game is geared more towards the SNES version, but has a lot of things I didn't like. One is it's hard to judge where your character is standing on the screen. You think you are completely out of harm's way, but get blown up. Also, there are way too many powerups in the game. It makes the game almost unfair for the enemy. The single player adventure mode is lame, but the multiplayer feature has potential to be great... IF i can figure out where to stand out of harm's way. THis game gets a 3 but has potential for a 4.

Bomberman is a cute little guy that runs around blowing up his enemies and other objects with hidden items inside. This is a great game for adults and children alike. I bought this for my 8 yr old daughter, who really enjoys playing it. Once you start playing though, it's hard to put down. Nice graphics and more challenging as you go up levels. My 4 yr old even likes to play if he can manage to get it away from the rest of us.

This bomberman is just like any other bomberman. You go to different levels and blow stuff up. If you have played the SNES version, then you have already played this game.

Bomberman DS, one of the classics
Review created: 09/05/07
by:

The game is primarily what bomberman is. No gimmicks get in the way, though the series didn't have too much trouble with gimmicks except for the infamous Act Zero and perhaps some cheap sports and racing games.

The game has 100 levels, that keeps you pretty busy. What makes this game different from the rest besides the extra worlds and levels is the incorporation of the item system. When you collect items and power ups, you keep them till you access via touch screen.

Each level has a bonus level where you have to kill off enemies on the bottom screen to be able to reach the spoils on the top screen. Due to the item function, I found this game to be kind of easy. I beat all 100 levels in about 3 hours.

A drawback of the game is the fact that it's a release title, thus it came out before the wifi system was up and running. In addition, there's no single player battle mode. You're only able to enter battle mode when you're battling with some other person.

To solve that problem, I simply bought Bombermanland touch, which was an entirely different game plus completed the package that Bomberman DS lacked.

Overall, 4/5

Keep on blastin!

Kids weren't that excited over the title and looking at the box. However, they have played it and were glad to have a new game for that price.
