Bomberman 64 (Nintendo 64, 1997)

This game is a fun game for the whole family!!! The multi Player mode is sweet because your try to bomb each other and then when time goes down something will happen like the water below you will rise up! The single Player Mode is also really fun!!! You battle your way through 4 worlds to break them off from the evil planet where you will defeat the final boss. You can also recieve the rainbow palace as a bounus level. Also in Multi Player their is a cheat the get even more more levels in Multi Player!!! This is a fun game that you will enjoy forever and ever!!!!

While not as polished as Bomberman64 Pt 2 or Bomberman Hero this is the game that broke our beloved hero out of the ordinary rank and file. With 6 (yes, 6... can you unlock the secret level?) expansive 3D worlds to explore there is plenty to do, though some parts do get a little tedious at time. All in all, a great game, and thanks to eBay for reuniting me with my childhood friend!

This is the WORST GAME YOU CAN EVER BUY FOR THE N64. It is not worth your time and money to have. This game is agravating in every way possible. The multiplayer is in the very most OK, but its not worth having. Story mode gets a -5/5! NEGATIVE 5!!!!!!!!!! You will HATE this game! Avoid it at ALL COSTS!!!!!!!
Pros: wear intresting costumes during multiplayer games that you can only get thru Story mode. NOT WORTH GETTING THEM!!

The bomberman franchise has spanned dozens of consoles and seen many spin-offs, good and bad. This is one of the good guys. As per usual, here is my pro's and con's of Bomberman 64.

Pro's...

-- 3D setting, less restrictive than past bomberman games.
-- Custom, unlockable characters.
-- A fun variety of different weapons.
-- Storyline, which gets more interesting after beating the game.
-- Four-player games on the n64? ALWAYS FUN.
-- Great graphics for the n64

Con's...

-- Janky controls
-- Depth perception issues with telling how far away you can stand from bombs.
-- Definitely a step in a different direction from classic bomberman.
-- Needs more intuitive level design
-- Game is very short

Basically, if you're reading this in the year 2007 or beyond, you're probably a retro games nut like myself, and if so, this is a very quality game reminiscent of the n64 "party-games" era. Go pick it up for a few bucks. It'll be worth your while.

Bomberman64 is a lot like its SNES predecessors - the premise is unchanged, though things have become less rigid and grid-based with the advent of 3D. There is a story campaign, with boss fights and sprawling levels characteristic of games from the N64's heyday, but that's not why I bought this game: I bought it for the multiplayer.

Yes indeed, the multiplayer mode in Bomberman64 makes it easily worth a purchase. The sheer wackiness of competitive bombing - kicking, throwing, and inflating bombs all over the place - is great casual fun, and combined with the variety of hectic stages, each with their own hazards that activate when battles drag on too long (meteors raining from the sky or sinking into the sea) it makes for a varied and interesting addition to your library.

other than being better than bomberman hero, there's nothing of note in bomberman 64 other than the decent multiplayer mode

It works good, is a fun 4 player game, and is in good condition. The 1 player mode is kinda slow but i bought this game for the 4 player mode.

I had recently bought an N64 again and Bomberman 64 was the first game I had to have again. I drove to 5 different used game stores in the area just to find it. After failing to find it I decided to buy it off Ebay cause i just had to have it. I am so excited to get Bomberman 64 again after remembering the fun I had years ago. The multiplayer is awesome :-)

In other just an awesome game of the year

Has a fun adventure mode with good levels and problem solving but the real seller for me is the battle option. With up to four friends you can choose an arena and battle it out by dropping, throwing, and kicking bombs at your opponents. If you die early enough you become a ghost and can then jump on the still living battlers backs and kind of direct them onto the bombs they placed. Its a great game that I've loved on one my favorite systems of all time.

the multiplayer is bonkers. i think the only thing better is this is mario party. ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

As a game, bomberman is your run-of-the-mill 3d adventure game (on the n64) with some very basic (yet mildly entertaining) multiplayer.

The game basically consists of you running around as "bomberman" collecting gems and various power-ups and throwing/kicking/dropping bombs at your enemies. The story is very basic (what did you expect?) and the plot and progression are mostly linear.

As for the multiplayer, it features 4 player free-for-all and team play. In much the same manner as the single-player experience, you run around collecting power-ups and attempt to blow up your opponents. It's mildly entertaining.

overall, the game was worth the price, but if you're looking for that perfect game that will keep you (and your friends) entertained for hours, keep looking.

This game gives you once more, "Bomberman" "The PINK MALE COLOR LOVER" That is something I always hated about him though. But I gotta say he's my favorite pink character at least.
Well anyways,it has 5 or 4...worlds(LOL,clue!,clue!)that are connected to another world or ship by some chains?.well anyways, this installation came with something no other bomberman game came with."Element like warriors" that really made a tick for my brain when i was a kid.I can't say spoilers,I know that.

But I will say something intriguing:In the ice world you will challenge Regulus,A Character i will never forget,he used bombs to pummel you (Wow Original)but he had a sword that he could use to kill you.I Have to say the character was my 3rd favorite character of all time and i wished he lived on. somehow the director of these bomberman series read my mind and regulus was back on the sequel as bulzeeb (Bomber Man The second attack) But never seeing again (review coming soon).

The Bad:
Horrible,ACK Graphics,EVEN FOR THAT TIME 1997!!!
you can visit the stages but!! you will solve puzzles with bombs,bombs and more bombs. really basic really...Basic.Controls are stubborn sometimes,but you can get used to them.

Conclusion:
YOU WILL ONLY LIKE TO FIGHT BOSSES THAT IS MY FAVORITE PART OF THE GAME EVERYBODyS I GUESS.
