Great Idea for the Book, but...

After reading Body Clutter, I liked the general idea behind this book. There is more to losing weight than just a physical diet. Like most illnesses and other disturbances that can cause dis-function and dis-ease, keeping the excess pounds on our bodies can be psychologically induced, or has a significant psychological component. Flylady and the Dinner Diva meticulously address this in detail relating to their own personal experiences with excess weight - the importance of reducing the excess psychologically weight (or "clutter") inside, before the physical body can shed its extra weight (or "clutter") on the outside. In very typical FlyLady and Dinner Diva fashion, taking babysteps and establishing routines are stressed throughout to help elimimate this personal "Body Clutter." The book was very easy to follow and understand, and encouraged a deal of soul-searching and honest self reflection.

What I did not like about the book was implied eating pattern stressed as to lose the outside "Body Clutter." Even though lots of water and fiber was stressed, the regimen was low in fruit and whole grains and extremely high in meat and dairy. I thought when I read through these specific passages, "Isn't this diet craze...dead?" This suggested regimen brought my rating down from an excellent to a borderline average.

Overall, I would recommend the book for its ideology, that psychological clutter must be removed before removing the excess physical body weight. However, don't take the diet regimen as -the- one to take to remove the "body clutter." It's always recommended to consult with a health professional before embarking on a dietary plan so it is healthy and safe, and so you can safely achieve your personal weight loss goals and keep the weight off permanently.

I would appreciate a vote on this guide, if you found this informative and helpful or not, as your feedback helps me develop further reviews and guides.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my review on Body Clutter!
