Walter Avancini and Sandra Werneck are listed as "contributing directors". This film incorporates a large amount of footage from Avancini's "Boca de Ouro", a Brazilian movie shot in 1990.

Includes scenes of Rio de Janeiro's annual Carnival celebration, as well as footage of the "favelas", the hillside slums surrounding Rio.

Includes footage from executive producer Zalman King's earlier feature, "Wild Orchid", which was also shot in Brazil.

Screened at the Toronto Film Festival in 1994.
