Album Notes Personnel: Bobby Valentino (vocals); Kalenna Harper (vocals); Tim Kelley (various instruments, guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, drum programming); Annan Grause (guitar); Bob Robinson (12-string guitar, piano, keyboards); Gary Smith (drum programming); Kevin "KD" Davis, Ludacris. Recording information: 2005. Soul man Bobby Valentino, the first R&B star on Ludacris's Disturbing Tha Peace label, may have seemed an overnight success when his hit "Slow Down" rocketed up the charts in 2005. However, there is a reason Valentino's self-titled album sounds more richly honed than most debuts. Like Anthony Hamilton, John Legend, and other R&B artists whose breakout records revealed a deeper history, Bobby Valentino knocked around the music world for years (primarily as member of the 1990s vocal group Mista) before Ludacris signed the Mississippi-born singer. The experience pays off for Valentino on a record that frequently travels outside of standard R&B territory, as his capable voice occupies smooth compositions, with both passion and restraint. The catchy single "Slow Down" opens on an orchestral hook, before gliding into an ode that pulls off the feat of being both leering and courtly. "Never Lonely" features distorted, quirky stops and starts, but its strongest characteristic is its winsome melody. By the time "My Angel (Never Leave You)" comes around, Valentino has fully seduced the listener with his satisfying and sultry debut. | Find errors in the product description? The shipping was also low. Unlike many other Cd's that cost low on Ebay but they "RAPE" you on shipping costs. The one thing that I didn't like about this whole transaction is that it took awhile for it to be shipped to my house. I believe 10 days. Otherwise I am still happy! Bobby Valentino is one of the latest crooners who have developed in the tradition of Usher, Ginuwine and the like. Cons: Too much production which it makes it hard to hear/understand what Bobby is singing. First there was Chingy and now Bobby Valentino! Can Bobby Valentino stand out from Chingy or just fall right into the same category? Some Bobby: This is basically an intro for the album. The beats are clapping and I think it is actually a good way to start the album off. It lasts about 30 seconds. All Bobby sings about is how everybody need some Bobby. Slow Down: Bobby's first single off the album is Slow Down. It actually is a good single and actually represents what the album is about-GIRLS! The beats are full of technical beats with medium hits on the drums with mild clapping. They really..
