Bobbie Faye's Very (Very, Very, Very) Bad Day by Toni Mcgee Causey (2007, Paperback)

I wanted to read this book after hearing some people talk about it. The story grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go until the last page. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop and finished the book in about 4 hours. I laughed all through the book. Bobby Faye gets confronted by one disaster after another, but she keeps on going and never gives up. All the characters are "characters" and I loved every one of them. If you like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum, you will love Bobbie Faye. She gets into one zany predicament after another in Louisiana. The townsfolk have a betting pool each time there is a "Bobby Faye Incident".

From the first page, this book was hilarious! Finally, a character I could truly appreciate who , no matter how hard she tried, just kept running into chaos! We could have been sisters! I have always been a staunch reader of Elizabeth Lowell, vowing that Id never find another author with such mind engrossing pages. I was wrong. I picked up Bobbie Faye's Very Bad day, on a whim at B&N ( could have gotten it from this seller for a lot less!), mainly because the cover made this book seem interesting. You CAN judge a book by its cover, this book is a page turner. I have been so engrossed in a chapter, that even when I was dead tired, and having to shake my head to keep my eyes from shutting, I continued to read page after page. Im looking forward to reading whatever this author has out there!

This has to be the funniest book I have laid my hands on! I laughed till I cried for well over 30 minutes as I raced through the pages of the first 5 chapters. Bobbie Faye wakes up at 4am to a flooded out trailer, She finds out her brother is kidnapped and held for ransom over a worthless tiarra. The only shirt she can find to put on is a SHUCK ME, SUCK ME, EAT ME RAW babydoll tee. An electritian shows up to cut off her electrity, all while her trailer begins to collapse. Off to the bank she goes to get money for the electric company, where she accidentally robbs the bank. Then she kidnapps a man and the chase is on. The cops and the feds are after her and the action doesnt stop there. She soon finds herself at the bottom of the lake, being chased by a bear, captured by gunrunners, multiple explosions and so forth.

I can honestly say this is one of the BEST books i have ever read. Props to Toni McGee for this one. Im reading the sequel now and cant put it down. (hint she gets kidnapped 3 times within 15 minutes)
